No winner on the Mersey?
A mid-table Premier League clash takes place on Monday evening between Everton and Leeds, and we have a tip ready! This season, the hosts have inaugurated their new stadium, which is now located directly on the Mersey in the former docks of Liverpool.
However, home games at Hill Dickinson Stadium are now proving to be as laborious as the daily grind of workers in the port area used to be. After eleven home league games this season, the Toffees have only managed a balanced record.
This is mainly due to the fact that their performances in front of their own fans have recently declined. Only one of their last five home games in the Premier League ended in a win for the hosts (1-1-3). The recent defeat at home to Sunderland in the FA Cup also fits into the picture of declining home performances.
At least there are no signs of another home defeat. Leeds, for their part, are weak away from home and are only third from bottom in the corresponding ranking in the British top flight with just one win (1-3-7). Given this situation, a draw seems a promising prediction for the clash between Everton and Leeds.
In addition, we expect Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score for the visitors. The striker played for Everton until last season and will now be extra motivated to play against his old teammates. On top of that, he is in good form: with nine goals, the Briton clearly leads the club’s internal scoring charts in “Steel City” and the 28-year-old has scored in seven of the last ten league games!
It could also be worth betting on Everton to score after the break against Leeds. The visitors from Elland Road are particularly weak defensively in the second half: they have already conceded 25 goals after the break – the highest number after West Ham (26).
Everton – Leeds Head-to-head record
The promoted team won the last match in August last year 1-0 at home against Everton. Thanks to this victory, the three-time British champions, most recently in 1992, ended a dry spell of five winless games against the Mersey side (0-2-3).
Furthermore, the Championship champions don’t usually fare well at Everton: Since a victory in 1990, the visitors have only triumphed once more in this fixture (1-7-8). On top of that, Everton coach David Moyes has a very good home record against Leeds United: he has won four of his five Premier League home games against Leeds (4-0-1), including both as Everton coach in February and September 2003.
However, the odds for the upcoming match between Everton and Leeds only slightly favor a defeat for the visitors coached by German Daniel Farke.

Everton – Leeds Tip
Everton started the season very strongly at home in their new stadium. The successor to Goodison Park has clearly inspired the Toffees. Everton remained unbeaten in their first five games at their new home, collecting eleven points. However, in the following seven league games on their own turf, they suffered the majority of defeats and only picked up four points.
The positive “stadium effect” has therefore already disappeared for coach David Moyes’ team. Instead, the home side are looking shaky at home, and this applies to the defense in particular, which has conceded 13 goals in the aforementioned period.
Leeds, however, are weak away from home – only Burnley and Wolverhampton have fewer points on the road in the league. In our opinion, this is shaping up to be a balanced match, which is why the Everton vs. Leeds betting odds for a draw are recommended.
