Another setback for the Viola?
Seven of the eight participants in the quarterfinals of the 2025/26 Coppa Italia have already been decided. The eighth quarterfinalist will be determined on Tuesday evening in Tuscany when AC Fiorentina hosts surprise team Como 1907. The Biancoblù are fifth in Serie A and now travel to the Gigliati (the Lilies), who are still threatened with relegation and lost 2-1 at home to Cagliari at the weekend after a brief upturn in form.
If Fiorentina’s tip that the visitors from Lake Como will advance proves correct, it would be another setback for the Viola.
Basically, there is more to be said for the upstarts from Lombardy, who not only won five of their last seven Serie A games (one draw, one defeat), but also won their last two away games at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Biancoblù made a big statement in their last away game at Lazio Rome (3-0) and in their dress rehearsal at the weekend against Torino FC (6-0). We are therefore leaning towards the visitors.
As we are also expecting a high-scoring cup tie, we recommend the match combo on double chance X2 with over 1.5 goals.
Those who would not categorically rule out a home win for the Viola can also stick with betting on a high-scoring match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. For example, Betano is offering odds of 2.05 for over 2.5 goals in regular time for Fiorentina vs. Como.
Fiorentina – Como Head-to-head record
Head to head: 17 – 7 – 13
A total of 37 competitive matches have been played between the two clubs so far, with Fiorentina leading the head-to-head record with 17 wins. At least recently, however, Como 1907 has had the upper hand. The Biancoblù have won their last two Serie A away games against the Gigliati, most recently celebrating a 2-1 away win in Tuscany on September 21, 2025.
Fiorentina – Como Tip
The last two encounters and the current form in Serie A clearly favor the visitors, which is why the prediction for Fiorentina vs. Como is that the Biancoblù will advance to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
Cesc Fabregas’ team would then face reigning Italian champions Napoli, but with 40 points already from their first 22 Serie A games, they would have no reason to hide at the foot of Vesuvius. Certainly not in Tuscany. After all, the Gigliati are in a direct relegation spot because they have only picked up 17 points from those 22 league games.
We expect this to be a high-scoring match. In order not to categorically rule out the possibility of extra time, we recommend a combined bet on double chance X2 with over 1.5 goals.
