Will the Nerazzurri end their mini-slump?
Inter Milan still leads the Serie A table and, with an eight-point lead over city rival AC Milan despite losing two derbies, has the very best chance of securing the Scudetto this summer.
Currently, however, the Nerazzurri are in a minor slump. Their elimination in the Champions League round of 16 against Bodø/Glimt was followed by a meager 0-0 draw in the Coppa Italia semifinal first leg against Como, before Inter managed to secure just one of six possible points from their last two Serie A matches. If the prediction of an away win for the Biscione against Fiorentina also fails to materialize, it would further exacerbate the already tense situation.
The Gigliati (meaning “the Lilies”), on the other hand, have climbed out of the relegation zone thanks to a massive improvement in performance. With their recent 4-1 away win in a crucial relegation battle against newly promoted Cremonese, the Tuscan side have built a four-point cushion over the first relegation spot. Moreover, the Viola advanced once again to the quarterfinals of their favorite competition, the UEFA Conference League, during the week. And yet: In the 2025/26 season, they won just three of their 14 home games in Serie A (five draws, six losses), which is why, all things considered, we’re still betting on a Milan away win.
In our estimation, however, the match at Stadio Artemio Franchi shouldn’t be particularly high-scoring. In their last three competitive matches, league leaders Inter Milan have scored just a single goal, while the Viola defense has also stabilized significantly in recent weeks. Against this backdrop, a neutral tip for a maximum of two goals in the match could also be made, which would not rule out a continuation of the Nerazzurri’s recent scoring slump.
Fiorentina – Inter Milan Head-to-Head Record
Head to Head: 51 – 58 – 82
A total of 191 matches have taken place between the two teams so far, and with 82 wins, Inter Milan leads the head-to-head record by a wide margin.
Not only did the Nerazzurri win the first leg against Fiorentina by a clear 3-0 margin, but they have also secured a victory in five of their last six head-to-head matches. Their only defeat, however, came in their most recent away game in Tuscany (0-3).

Fiorentina – Inter Milan Prediction
Although the Nerazzurri haven’t won any of their last three competitive matches (two draws, one loss) and have scored just a single goal in that span, our prediction for Fiorentina vs. Inter Milan still points to an away win for the Biscione.
The Gigliati were ultimately too weak at home during the 2025/26 season, while the Lombards were dominant on the road, racking up a whopping eleven wins in 14 away matches. On top of that, the Viola were in action in the Conference League during the week, while the Nerazzurri—who are no longer competing internationally—were able to spend the entire week preparing for this pivotal away match.
Although it would certainly make sense to bet on a low-scoring Sunday night match in Tuscany, our top pick is an away win for the Nerazzurri.
