Little action in Liguria?
On Monday evening, two teams that have had a poor start to the season will face each other at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, both hoping to make amends. While Genoa CFC is still waiting for its first win after four matchdays in Serie A (two draws, two defeats), Lazio Rome defeated Hellas Verona 4-0 but lost all three other league games without scoring another goal. This makes it very difficult to predict the outcome of the match between Genoa and Lazio Rome.
It is clear that with two teams that have failed to score in at least half of their games, there is unlikely to be a goal fest. The Genoa vs. Lazio Rome prediction that stands out to us is that a maximum of one team will score – a bet that would have paid off in all of the last five meetings between the two clubs without exception. The Biancocelesti won four times without conceding a goal, and the Grifone recorded a 1-0 away win in the Eternal City.
It is clear that both teams are currently unsettled, so it would not be too surprising if the spectators at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris were treated to a very tactical first half in which little happens, in keeping with the expected low-scoring match. It is therefore not uninteresting to bet on a draw between the two teams at half-time, for which ODDSET is offering odds of 1.95 for Genoa against Lazio Rome.
Genoa – Lazio Rome Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
Head to head: 49 – 36 – 53
A total of 138 matches have already taken place between the two teams, and Lazio Rome now leads the head-to-head record with 53 wins, after the nine-time Italian champions from Liguria had been ahead for a long time. However, the Aquile have not only won their last four competitive games against Genoa CFC without conceding a goal, but have also celebrated nine wins (one draw, one defeat) in their last eleven encounters.

Genoa – Lazio Rome Tip
Although the betting odds for Genoa vs. Lazio Rome favor the visitors, this is due not only to the one-sided head-to-head comparison, but also to the fact that the Rossoblù are still winless after four matchdays (two draws, two losses) and have scored only two goals. However, things have not been going well for the Biancocelesti either. Following the international break, the Aquile suffered two more 0-1 defeats against Sassuolo and city rivals AS Roma.
It would therefore be risky to predict that Lazio Rome will win at Genoa, as they have failed to score in three of their first four Serie A games and still need to gel as a team under new coach Maurizio Sarri. We expect a low-scoring match and recommend betting on no more than one team scoring in this duel.
