No room for surprises?

The third-placed team in Serie A welcomes the fifth-placed team in Serie B. The favorites in this cup tie are clear, especially as the Nerazzurri have not lost a single competitive game against the team from the lagoon city in the current millennium.

Accordingly, there is no alternative to betting on a home win for Inter Milan against Venezia. Although they have already lost four of their first 13 games in the top flight of Italian soccer (nine wins), under Cristian Chivu they are playing exciting attacking soccer and, with 28 goals already, are the undisputed goal machines of Serie A.

The Venetians will have to wrap up warm, as they may have eliminated first division side Hellas Verona in the previous round of the Coppa Italia in a penalty shootout, but they also failed to score against the Gialloblu. After 90 goalless minutes, the game went straight to a penalty shootout, in which all five Leoni Alati (English: the winged lions) shooters scored. Since we predict that the Arancioneroverdi will remain goalless away at Inter Milan, we find the greatest value in betting on the Nerazzurri to win to nil.

Although it can be assumed that Venezia FC will park the bus in their own penalty area away at the Giuseppe Meazza and once again defend a 0-0 draw in a possible penalty shootout, considering that the Nerazzurri have already scored 28 goals in 13 Serie A matchdays, a clear victory in Lombardy is more likely.

Inter Milan – Venezia Head-to-head record

Head to head: 23 – 6 – 7

The two clubs have only met 36 times in competitive matches, with Inter Milan leading the head-to-head record very clearly with 23 wins. The Nerazzurri have not lost a single game against Venezia FC in the current millennium and are unbeaten in a total of seven meetings (six wins, one draw). Three of the last four encounters ended in a clean sheet victory for the Lombards.

Inter Milan – Venezia Tip

In a Coppa Italia match, which is decided in a single game before the semi-finals, a surprise is always possible in principle.

However, there is not only a league difference between these two teams, but we are also talking about one of the top favorites in Serie A welcoming a club to their home ground that, although it has the second-largest budget in Serie B and is one of the promotion contenders, is “only” in fifth place with seven wins from 14 games. Accordingly, our tip for Inter Milan vs. Venezia is clearly for the Nerazzurri to advance.

The only question that remains is how to best bet on a home win for the Lombards in order to get the maximum value on the betting slip without taking too much risk. In our opinion, the most interesting bet is on a clean sheet victory for the Nerazzurri, who not only play exciting attacking football but also defend very well.
