Will the Zebre get the job done?

After a strong start with seven out of nine possible points from their first three competitive games under Igor Tudor, the new coach suffered his first setback on Wednesday evening. The Zebre were defeated 0-1 by newly promoted Parma Calcio, which saw the Bianconeri slip back to fifth place. If Juventus fail to win at home against Monza, the mess would be complete. After all, the bottom team in Serie A is traveling to Piedmont.

The visitors from the famous Formula 1 city in Lombardy are already eleven points adrift of safety and have won only two of their 33 league games (nine draws, 22 defeats). Away from home, they have lost eleven of their 16 games (one win, four draws), which is why the prediction for Juventus against Monza clearly favors a home win for the record champions. However, Juve must first and foremost fight against themselves and show character.

However, there is little to suggest that the Bianconeri will miss out on a home win against a team that has picked up just two points from a possible 39 in their last 13 league games. The Biancorossi’s defense is too vulnerable and their own offense too tame. Against Juve’s well-functioning defense, we think it’s very unlikely that the Lombards will score an away goal, which is why it makes sense to bet on a clean sheet for the Zebre.

Juventus – Statistics & current form

Juventus Turin actually wanted to attack at the top again in the new season under Thiago Motta. In fact, the Bianconeri remained unbeaten for a long time, but lost points far too often against significantly weaker teams. Due to the high number of draws, the Zebre increasingly lost ground on the top two. When the first defeats then came, the record champions bowed out of the Scudetto race.

After two crushing defeats in a row against Atalanta Bergamo (0-4) and Fiorentina (0-3), it was all over for Thiago Motta, who was replaced by Igor Tudor, who is now tasked with leading the team into the Champions League, at least on an interim basis. With seven out of a possible nine points, the Vecchia Signora climbed back up to fourth place under him. However, the Piedmontese then lost 0-1 to Parma Calcio on Wednesday evening and slipped back to fifth place.

Juventus remains too harmless in attack

Juve cannot afford to drop too many more points, which is why it is extremely important that Juventus beat Monza at home, as the Zebre have lost only one of their 17 Serie A home games in the 2024/25 season (nine wins, seven draws). Excluding the aforementioned 0-4 defeat against Bergamo, they have conceded only eleven goals in the other 16 home games. So there has certainly been no lack of defensive solidity. Rather, it has been the attacking play that has been lacking throughout the season.

There was an improvement with the winter transfer of Randal Kolo Muani. The former SGE star scored an impressive five goals in his first three Serie A games. However, since his brace that led to a 2-1 away win on Lake Como on February 7, 2025, the Frenchman has failed to score in eight appearances. Under Tudor, he only played the full 90 minutes in the away game in Parma. In other words, the Bianconeri’s offense continues to struggle, which is why the club is currently openly pursuing Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling, who was recently declared a top transfer target for the summer.

Monza – Statistics & current form

AS Monza are bottom of Serie A, already eleven points adrift of safety. With only 15 points left to play for, their chances of staying up are down to an absolute minimum. Should US Lecce even manage an away win at Atalanta Bergamo on the opening day of the 34th matchday, the players from the famous Formula 1 city would be mathematically relegated on Sunday, unless they manage an away win at Zebre.

As a result, plans for life in the second division are already in full swing in Lombardy, as even Alessandro Nesta has failed to deliver the hoped-for turnaround. The Biancorossi have now gone 13 Serie A games without a win (two draws, eleven defeats). They have managed to pick up just two points out of a possible 39 during this period. The last four league games have all been lost by a score of 1-8, even though Cagliari (0-3), Como (1-3), and Venezia (0-1) were all opponents within reach.

Monza lacking in all areas

However, this goal difference also illustrates that it is not only the offense but also the defense that is a work in progress at AC Monza. The Lombards have scored just 25 goals in 33 league games, conceding 57 in return. No wonder, then, that the odds are so clearly against Nesta’s team when Juventus face Monza.

The Biancorossi are not particularly fond of traveling in 2024/25 either. Only Venezia have won less often away from home (not at all) than Monza (once). With eleven defeats from 16 away games (four draws), the Lombards still scored fewer points (seven) than the equally relegation-threatened players from the lagoon city, who at least picked up eight points on the road. The 33 goals conceded away from home are also the highest in the league, which is why an away goal in Piedmont is not too likely.

Juventus – Monza Head-to-head record / H2H record

Head to head: 6 – 2 – 2

Only ten competitive matches have been played between the two teams so far, and Juventus Turin leads the head-to-head record very clearly with six wins. The Zebre not only won the first leg in Lombardy 2-1, but also prevailed 2-0 in their last home game against AC Monza to date.

Juventus – Monza Tip

The bottom line is that there is simply no alternative to a home win for Juventus against Monza. The visitors from Lombardy are as good as relegated and have posted alarming statistics in almost every respect. The Biancorossi have been too lackluster in attack and too vulnerable in defense. Although it should not be forgotten that Juve have struggled to score goals here and there and have failed to break the deadlock against deep-lying teams on several occasions, the visitors’ defense should simply be too vulnerable. Those who still don’t want to rule out a goalless draw can alternatively bet on AC Monza not scoring.

However, as convincing and high-scoring victories have been few and far between for the Zebre, we consider the betting option available exclusively at Winamax, that Juve will win either 1-0, 2-0, or 3-0, to be the most lucrative.
