Will the struggling Zebras struggle again?

On paper, it’s obviously an absolute must-win game for the Italian record champions. Pisa SC are coming to Piedmont on the back of 16 Serie A games without a win (six draws, ten defeats) and will most likely be back in Serie B next season.

Nevertheless, Juventus’s match against Pisa carries a certain amount of risk. After all, the Vecchia Signora has suffered a series of setbacks recently: their elimination from the Coppa Italia against Atalanta Bergamo (0-3) was followed by their elimination from the Champions League round of 16 playoffs against Galatasaray. Meanwhile, they are four points adrift of a place in the Champions League in Serie A.

On Sunday, the Bianconeri could only manage a 3-3 draw at AS Roma. Once again, they failed to get the result they needed in a genuine six-point game. The Zebras have won only one of their last seven competitive games (two draws, four defeats), and to make matters worse, their 3-2 home win over Galatasaray was worthless after the 5-2 defeat in the first leg. Although we don’t believe in the Juventus vs. Pisa prediction that Juventus will slip up against Pisa SC on home turf, they are still lacking confidence, which is why it could be quite a struggle for the Vecchia Signora. We therefore recommend betting on Juve scoring a maximum of two goals.

There is not much to be said in favor of the visitors from Tuscany, who made another change on the bench at the beginning of February. However, the Nerazzurri have not really fallen apart recently. None of the four competitive games under Swedish coach Oscar Hiljemark were lost by more than one goal. Against AC Milan, the Torri (meaning “the towers”) even came close to earning a point against a top club in their narrow 1-2 defeat.

Juventus – Pisa Head-to-head record

Head to head: 13 – 4 – 1

Only 18 competitive matches have been played between the two clubs so far, and Pisa SC has only managed to defeat the Vecchia Signora once, with that victory dating back to the 1987/88 Coppa Italia.

Since then, the two teams have crossed paths nine more times. Without exception, Juventus Turin has always come out on top. In the first leg in Tuscany, the Bianconeri recorded a 2–0 away win.

Juventus – Pisa Tip

If Juventus fail to win at home against Pisa, it would be another low point in a very complicated few weeks in which the record champions have not only squandered all chances of winning the title, but also fallen four points behind the Champions League qualifying places.

In this desolate state, however, the risk of the Vecchia Signora slipping up against a club that has not won in 16 Serie A games (six draws, ten defeats) is too high for any favorite tips to yield even the slightest value.

Although there is no value to be found in an outsider tip either, it is interesting to note that Juve could potentially struggle against an opponent that has been much more solid defensively since its change of coach. We therefore recommend betting on the Bianconeri scoring a maximum of two home goals against the Nerazzurri.

For under 2.5 goals by the record champions, Betano is offering odds of 1.70 for Juventus vs. Pisa, which we are betting on with five out of ten units.
