Will the Cherries remain a tough opponent for United?
In the first few weeks of this season, Bournemouth turned out to be a positive surprise team in the Premier League. After seven matchdays, the Cherries had 14 out of a possible 21 points and were among the leaders in the English top flight. However, with only five more points added from the last eight matches, coach Andoni Iraola’s team has slipped to 13th place. The Red and Blacks have been waiting for a full three points for six PL games.
Given their disappointing form, which is also reflected in two goalless league games in a row, the tip on the visitors does not play a decisive role in my considerations between Manchester United and Bournemouth. And that’s despite the fact that the Cherries have won their last two PL away games at Old Trafford…
Compared to recent seasons, however, the English record champions from Manchester, who now have to share this title with Liverpool FC, are making a more stable impression in 2025/26. Their performances seem more balanced and consistent. Their form is nowhere near as inconsistent as it has been in the recent past.
In recent weeks in particular, the Red Devils have given us good reason to predict a win for the former Champions League winners ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Bournemouth. Five wins, three draws, and just one defeat adorn their statistics from the last nine Premier League games. The last two away games in particular, at Crystal Palace (2-1) and Wolverhampton (4-1), went exactly according to plan for Portuguese coach Amorim, who continues to struggle with the fact that his players find it much more difficult to bring their undoubted talent to bear on the pitch at home.
The bottom line is that there are still doubts when it comes to betting on the 1X2 market between Manchester United and Bournemouth. My focus is therefore on over bets. On the one hand, only newly promoted Burnley has conceded more goals away from home than Bournemouth (19) so far this season.
On the other hand, both MUFC’s home games and the Red and Blacks’ away games have seen an average of three goals or more. If we also consider that the star ensemble from Manchester has yet to keep a clean sheet in 2025/26, but is the third-best PL offense with 26 goals scored, this further supports my assumption of a high-scoring Monday.
The Manchester United vs. Bournemouth betting odds are particularly attractive on an Asian total line. For example, over 3 goals brings odds of 1.80. If United scores in both halves, you can get 2.50 in the Bet365 app.
Manchester United – Bournemouth Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
In the first twelve direct duels with Bournemouth, Manchester United celebrated nine wins (one draw, two defeats). Recently, however, there have been four consecutive encounters in which the English record champions were denied three points against the Cherries. There were two draws and even two AFC wins.
Among other things, the Red and Blacks won the last two away games at Old Trafford 3-0. However, a friendly match in the preseason ended 4-1 for Manchester United. So goals have always been on the agenda. At least that is unlikely to change on Monday evening at the Theater of Dreams.

Manchester United – Bournemouth Tip
The English Premier League is more exciting this season than it has been for a long time. This is also true for Manchester United, who, thanks to a positive trend with only one defeat in their last nine PL games, have been able to catch up with the leaders. They are now looking to secure their next three points at home against Bournemouth.
However, rather than betting on the three-way market, it makes more sense to bet on a high-scoring encounter. Bournemouth have already conceded 19 goals in seven away games and have also failed to win six consecutive league games. On the other hand, MUFC has yet to keep a clean sheet after 15 matchdays. So both teams are struggling defensively. That leads me to push for a bet on over 3 goals between Manchester United and Bournemouth. I’m playing the 1.80 from Bet365 with five fictitious units.
