Is Leeds planning another Premier League season soon?
Several German players ventured to one of the two clubs in our Newcastle vs. Leeds tip last summer. The most prominent of these was the deal involving Nick Woltemade, who is currently the top scorer at his new club (7 goals, alongside Bruno Guimaraes).
At the other end of the pitch, Malick Thiaw is developing into an outstanding center back. The 24-year-old faces an exciting matchup with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the Newcastle vs. Leeds prediction. The striker has been in top form for weeks and leads the Peacocks’ internal scoring chart (8 goals).
The distribution of Newcastle – Leeds betting odds in the best betting apps is somewhat too drastic in favor of the home side. Guest coach Daniel Farke made a system change weeks ago, laying the foundation for his team’s current run.
The Whites are unbeaten in seven Premier League games (2W, 5D). Thanks to this form, seventh place in the table is as far away from the promoted team as it is from the relegation zone (8 points each).
The list of German newcomers is not yet complete. Anton Stach joined the reigning second division champions last summer and was already considered a real bargain at the time. After just over half a season, the defensive midfielder has even exceeded the hype surrounding him at the time. Stach has recorded the seventh-most shot-creating actions (71) among all outfield players in the current Premier League season. Both teams have many tall players on the pitch who can pose a goal threat.
Newcastle – Leeds Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
On the third matchday of the current season, there was a comparison that does not fit our idea of a rematch. At that time, both clubs parted ways with a goalless draw, which was in line with the Magpies’ initial run. Eddie Howe’s team finished the first three PL away games of the season with a 0-0 draw.
The balance of power has been fairly even in previous seasons. Four of the last five games between Newcastle and Leeds have ended in a draw. We can also imagine a draw at St. James’ Park this coming weekend.

Newcastle – Leeds Tip
Visitors rarely leave St. James’ Park with three points in their bag. Newcastle are unbeaten in seven Premier League home games (5W, 2D) and have scored exactly two goals in each of those matches. Two goals are definitely possible against the Peacocks.
The promoted team has avoided defeat in its seven previous PL matches this season, but has conceded more than 1.5 expected goals in three of its last four games. Farke’s players are also capable of creating chances themselves.
The Whites have finished seven of their nine previous matches in the English top flight with at least 1.5 expected goals. The promoted team has even finished two of its last four appearances with more than 2.1 expected goals. If Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is currently sixteenth in the table, is back in the spotlight, the striker could well increase his goal tally.
In addition, both sides have enormous strength when it comes to their own offensive standards. These may not always look pretty, but the enormous size of the players on both sides is a particular advantage here. Newcastle (13) and Leeds (14) each have a top-5 offense from set pieces.
