How will the Tricky Trees handle being the favorites?
2,100 fans accompanied the Tricky Trees on their last Europa League trip to Portugal. Those 2,100 away fans were disappointed when their team lost 1-0 in Braga without managing a single shot on goal. In the Nottingham vs. Ferencvaros Budapest prediction, those fans should be more concerned about their offense.
The hosts from the British Isles will hardly be able to avoid two additional pairings in the playoff round in our Nottingham vs. Ferencvaros Budapest prediction. However, the hosts can at least no longer be pushed out of the top 24.
The bookmakers are, of course, well aware of the expected table. Sean Dyche’s team is actually at the top of the Europa League table.
Both teams have their respective strengths in defense. No other club has conceded fewer expected goals in the EL league phase so far than the Tricky Trees (4.6 xGA). The visitors led by head coach Robbie Keane are not significantly weaker against the ball (7.0 xGA – 9th place).
If Fradi return home with a win, they will also bring with them a ticket to the Europa League round of 16.
Nottingham – Ferencvaros Budapest Head-to-head record
For the first time in their club histories, the two clubs will face each other on the European stage. For Nottingham, it is also their first meeting with a Hungarian club. Ferencvaros, on the other hand, has played nine European away games in England alone, losing six of them (1W, 2D).
The visitors’ offensive play is characterized by tremendous efficiency. On average, Keane’s team creates promising scoring chances (0.13 xG/shot), but relatively few of them (27 shots on goal). Thanks to the fifth-best shot conversion rate in the current competition (14.81 percent), the yield has been more than sufficient so far.

Nottingham – Ferencvaros Budapest Tip
Sean Dyche’s teams are extremely reluctant to take responsibility for a game. The Tricky Trees prefer to focus on their compact defensive work, from which they storm out when certain pressing triggers are activated and turn ball wins into transition moments.
Ferencvaros would do well to cleverly hand over the favorite role to the hosts and trust in their own excellent defensive work. No other participant in the current EL league phase has allowed fewer expected goals per shot than the Hungarian team (0.08 xGA/shot).
Added to this is the clever protection of their own penalty area. Just over half of the opponent’s shots (51.11 percent) were taken from outside Keane’s penalty area – the best record among all EL participants. That doesn’t make it any easier for Dyche’s protégés.
In return, the Garibaldi Reds also defend their penalty area with the utmost caution and precision. The best expected defense is also possible because no other club in this Europa League season has allowed fewer opponent touches in their own penalty area than Nottingham (95).
