Will the newcomers’ offensive upswing continue?
The Serie A teams are particularly fond of traveling to the promoted team at the Leaning Tower this season. The hosts are bottom of the home table! So is an away win the obvious tip for the clash between Pisa and Bologna?
In addition to the chronic home weakness of the Serie B runners-up, their generally unconvincing form also suggests so. Coach Oscar Hiljemark’s team has not won in 15 rounds, and the penultimate team is now nine points away from safety. This naturally increases the pressure on the hosts from round to round.
At least the offense has improved recently in front of their home crowd: the newcomers scored three of their first four home goals of the season in their last three home games, conceding goals to two of the league’s top teams, AC Milan and Atalanta Bergamo. Given this offensive upswing in home games, the prognosis for goals from both sides in the match between Pisa and Bologna looks promising.
Furthermore, we believe the home side is capable of at least a draw at halftime. In only four of their 13 home games this season did the hosts not go into the break with a draw on the scoreboard. This record quickly shows that Pisa plays very controlled in the first halves, while their performance regularly drops in the second halves.
This additional prediction is supported by very similar away statistics for BFC. More than half (8) of the Rossoblu’s 13 away games this season also ended in a draw at half-time! We also believe that Santiago Castro will score for Vincenzo Italiano’s visitors. The striker is currently performing reliably and has scored in three of the last five competitive games on the national and international stage!
Pisa – Bologna Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
The newly promoted team from Pisa has been waiting for its next win against the Red and Blues since 1990. Since then, the two-time Serie B champions have suffered three defeats in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, and the clubs have drawn twice.
For the next edition at the Stadio Arena Garibaldi in Pisa against Bologna, the odds are once again pointing towards a win for the visitors.

Pisa – Bologna Tip
The promoted team is second from bottom in the table and must fight hard to remain in Italy’s top flight. The “Torri” have brought this predicament upon themselves, mainly due to their often poor home performances.
Recently, however, the offense has at least found its footing, scoring once in each of the last three games in front of their home crowd. The visitors are also arriving in less than peak physical condition.
The reason for this is that the reigning Coppa Italia winners have been playing in the Europa League playoffs over the last two weeks, alongside their domestic league commitments. In light of this, the betting odds for the Pisa vs. Bologna match suggest that both sides are likely to score.
This prediction is supported by the Veltri’s recent defensive instability. The seven-time Italian champions, who last won the title in 1964, have not kept a clean sheet in six away games and have conceded an average of almost two goals (11) during this period.
