Will the Andalusians confirm their recent resurgence?
After the reeling Europa League record winners started the 2025/26 season with two defeats under new coach Matias Almeyda, it looked as if the new season would bring the same old problems for Sevilla FC. However, the Nervionenses managed to turn things around, picking up seven out of a possible nine points from their last three games. If Sevilla can now beat Villarreal, the Blanquirrojos’ prediction of a point would be confirmed, finally confirming the upward trend.
The Champions League participants from the east coast of Spain have also been able to confirm their strong form from last season. The Yellow Submarine (Spanish: submarino amarillo) has picked up ten out of a possible 15 points and is currently third in the table. With ten goals scored, Villarreal also has the second-best offense in La Liga. However, Sevilla has also scored nine goals. Against this backdrop, the Sevilla vs. Villarreal prediction that there will be goals at both ends in this league game at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán looks very promising. In any case, both teams have scored in each of the last seven meetings between the two sides.
In principle, it would also be conceivable to consider the nominally stronger Champions League participant, who also won their last away game at Sevilla FC 2-1, to win the game. However, the Yellow Submarine has struggled away from home in 2025/26. In La Liga, the eastern Spanish team has only picked up one point out of a possible six away from home, and in the Champions League, they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in their opening game of the group stage. So we’d rather steer clear of the three-way system, even though the Nervionenses haven’t won at home yet in the early stages of the season.
The match could well start cautiously and only really get going in the second half. Those who are not afraid to take a slightly higher risk can bet on Sevilla vs. Villarreal at odds of 2.00 that there will be more goals in the second half than in the first.
Sevilla – Villarreal Head-to-head record
Head to head: 25 – 17 – 16
A total of 58 matches have been played between the two teams so far, with Sevilla FC leading the head-to-head record very clearly with 25 wins. Recently, however, the balance has increasingly shifted in favor of the eastern Spanish side, who have won all of their last three encounters with the Andalusians and last season secured a full six points against the Nervionenses for the first time ever. It is noteworthy that in the last seven encounters between the two teams, there have been goals scored by both sides without exception.

Sevilla – Villarreal Tip
Although Sevilla are slight favorites against Villarreal, a corresponding tip does not have a positive expected value, as the odds are ultimately not high enough to justify the risk of a home win for the Nervionenses.
In addition, the Yellow Submarine has remained winless in three competitive away games in the still young 2025/26 season (one draw, two defeats).
It is much more likely, however, that there will be goals at both ends on Tuesday evening at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán – a prediction that would have been correct in all of the last seven meetings between the two teams. The odds for this are 1.60 for Sevilla against Villarreal, which we are betting on with five out of ten units via the handy Bet-at-home app.
