Who will end their losing streak first?

On Tuesday evening, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United will face each other in the Premier League during the English week. Tottenham suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at the weekend, while Newcastle also lost 3-2 to Brentford. In terms of the table, this puts Spurs in 15th place with 29 points, while the Magpies are in 12th place with 33 points.

The Londoners have recently had a noticeable trend at their home ground, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – in their last eight home games in the league and cup combined, Frank’s team scored six times in the second half and twice in the first half. They never scored in both halves. Therefore, our Tottenham vs. Newcastle tip is once again for at least one goal from the hosts in the second half.

Tottenham goes into this match with a clearly negative trend. The Spurs have lost five of their last seven Premier League games against Newcastle, which is almost as many defeats as in the 23 previous direct encounters. Their current midweek weakness is also particularly striking: Tottenham have been waiting for a win for eleven Premier League games during the week, with three draws and eight defeats – their last successful game dates back to January 2024 with a 3-2 win against Brentford. We are therefore predicting the Magpies’ next win in our Tottenham vs. Newcastle prediction.

Their home form is also a cause for concern. After a strong start to the 2024/25 season with four wins from their first five home games, they have only managed four wins from 26 games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. There is still hope on the offensive side, however: Dominic Solanke has scored in 13 of his last 19 Premier League home starts and has scored a total of four goals in his last three appearances against Newcastle, making him once again a key factor in Spurs’ play.

Newcastle travel to London with mixed fortunes, but traditionally feel comfortable against Tottenham. The Magpies have won more Premier League games overall and away from home against no other opponent. In addition, the fixture is one of the highest-scoring in league history (196 goals) and has never ended goalless in 61 attempts.

However, Newcastle’s current away form does not bode well: only two wins from their last 15 Premier League away games and three consecutive defeats in London dampen their record. On the positive side, Newcastle have won six of their last eight midweek games, scoring 22 goals in the process. Individually, Anthony Gordon stands out, having been involved in more Premier League goals against Tottenham than any other club and collecting five points in his last four appearances against Spurs.

Tottenham – Newcastle Head-to-head record / H2H record

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have played each other 175 times in competitive matches. The record slightly favors Spurs, who have won 74 games, while Newcastle have won 65. There have also been 36 draws. Tottenham also have a slight edge in terms of goal difference, with 282 goals to 261.

Tottenham – Newcastle Tip

However, the current form is dire: while the hosts are winless in seven league games, the Magpies are winless in four league games and have lost four of their last five competitive games.

Tottenham have lost five of their last seven games against Newcastle and are winless in eleven PL games during the week. In addition, the Spurs have won only four of their last 26 home games. Newcastle, on the other hand, have lost their last three games in London and have won only twice in their last 15 PL away games. However, they have won six of their last eight PL midweek games and are in good form there.
