Will the Gigliati give themselves some breathing space at the bottom of the table?
For a long time, Fiorentina looked like certain relegation candidates in what has been an absolutely disastrous season. The Gigliati (meaning “the lilies”) failed to win a single game in the first 15 matchdays of the 2025/26 season. But then came the home game against Udinese Calcio on matchday 16, where they finally broke their duck with a resounding 5-1 victory under coach Paolo Vanoli, who had only been appointed at the beginning of November.
