Can the Whites overcome their away struggles?

West Ham United and Leeds United face off in the FA Cup quarterfinals on Sunday evening. West Ham won 5-3 against Brentford in the last round after a 2-2 draw in regulation time. The visitors from Leeds won convincingly 3-0 against second-division side Norwich City.

The Londoners have also had to go into extra time in all three FA Cup rounds so far – the Whites in only one. Nevertheless, we can easily imagine a fourth consecutive extra time for the Hammers. In our West Ham vs. Leeds prediction, we’re betting on a draw after 90 minutes.

The hosts from London are currently in good form and have lost only two of their last nine competitive matches. At home, their form is also clearly on the rise—after suffering eight losses in their first eleven home games, the Hammers are now unbeaten in six matches in front of their home crowd. West Ham also has fond memories of facing Leeds United in the FA Cup: the Hammers won their only meeting 2-0 at home in 2022.

Also notable is the low number of goals currently being scored in both teams’ matches. For the London club, only two of their last nine games have seen more than two goals scored. For the visitors from Leeds, on the other hand, six of their last seven games have featured fewer than three goals—the last two even ended in a 0-0 draw.

Leeds United, on the other hand, are also in good form and, just like their opponents from West Ham, have lost only two of their last nine competitive matches. However, the Whites cannot keep up with the Hammers’ home form—while they are also unbeaten in their last six away games, five of those ended in draws after 90 minutes. In their last ten away games, there has been only one defeat, but also only one win.

In general, away wins are very hard for the Whites to come by. After 90 minutes, the visitors have won only two of their 18 away games this season—with one additional win in extra time.

West Ham – Leeds Head-to-Head Record

In the head-to-head comparison between West Ham United and Leeds United, a clear trend in favor of the visitors from Leeds emerges over a total of 80 matches. West Ham won 18 of those games, while Leeds walked off the field as winners significantly more often with 41 victories. 21 matches ended in a draw. Leeds’ dominance is also evident in the goal difference: With 145 goals scored to 103 conceded, Leeds shows clear offensive superiority, which consistently aligns with their higher number of wins.

West Ham – Leeds Prediction

The West Ham vs. Leeds betting odds from top bookmakers slightly favor the London hosts in this matchup.

The Hammers have lost only one of their seven home games since the start of 2026 and also won their only FA Cup match against Leeds United 2-0.

Leeds United, on the other hand, has struggled with chronic away form and has won only three of 18 away games this season—though they have suffered just a single defeat in their ten away matches.
