Can the Hammers still overtake Tottenham?

From a historical perspective, a draw is unlikely in this crucial relegation battle and our West Ham vs. Wolverhampton tip. None of the last 16 Premier League matches between the two clubs have ended without a winner.

Realistically speaking, in our West Ham vs. Wolverhampton prediction, only one team is still fighting to avoid relegation. Currently, the Hammers sit in 18th place. Just one point ahead of them—and thus within reach—the Spurs are trembling.

The Wolves occupy the bottom spot in the table, a full 17 points behind the home side. Head coach Rob Edwards’ players have been there on 30 of the 31 matchdays so far. Accordingly, the bookmakers’ assessments are clear in their West Ham – Wolverhampton betting odds.

A free bet still seems appropriate at this stage of the season. For weeks, the club from the West Midlands has been giving their opponents a hard time and has lost only one of their last six Premier League matches. Among others, they defeated Aston Villa (2-0) and Liverpool (2-1) and earned a point against Arsenal (2-2).

What these results don’t show: Wolverhampton has been defending successfully for weeks. Aside from Arsenal, Manchester City (11 each), and Brighton (12), no other club in the English top flight has conceded fewer goals than the Wolves (15) since Matchday 19.

West Ham – Wolverhampton Head-to-Head Record

There have been three matches since April of last year – all of which the Wolves won. On April 1, 2025, Jørgen Strand-Larsen scored the only goal of the match with a long-range shot. Last August, there was an entertaining back-and-forth match that the Wolves also won (3-2).

Most recently, Rob Edwards’s side won the first-leg clash in early January 2026 with a 3-0 victory at their home ground, Molineux Stadium. As visitors to the London Stadium, we expect significantly less goal threat from the bottom-of-the-table side.

West Ham – Wolverhampton Prediction

Edwards’ squad has scored 24 goals this Premier League season (20th) – seven fewer than any other team. Additionally, only Burnley (27.12 xG) has created fewer valuable scoring chances than Wolverhampton Wanderers (28.03 xG).

With their improved defensive performance, the visitors could still make life extremely difficult for the Hammers. West Ham is also limited in attack and has scored no more than one goal in five of their last six PL matches.

Furthermore, the hosts themselves tend to sit deep defensively, which has recently led to low-scoring matches. Six of the last seven Premier League matches involving the 18th-placed team have ended with under 2.5 goals. For Friday night, we’re expecting an intense matchup between two relegation contenders, though one that will likely feature few scoring chances.
