Will the Spaniard sweep past the local hero as well?
In the fall of 2021, the two rising stars were still considered hot prospects and faced off in the final of the Next Gen ATP Finals. Carlos Alcaraz won the match in straight sets, 3-0, later rose to world No. 1, and recently became the youngest player ever to complete the Career Grand Slam in Australia.
Sebastian Korda, on the other hand, most recently won his third singles title on the ATP Tour in February at Delray Beach. He remains without a title at major tournaments, however. Consequently, in the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Sebastian Korda, the odds favor the Spaniard defeating the Florida-born local hero in Miami in straight sets, 2-0.
Nevertheless, there are also arguments that can be made in favor of the “local hero.” After all, Sebastian Korda won 11 of his 16 singles matches in 2026 and has already defeated Carlos Alcaraz in one of their five head-to-head meetings, although it should be noted that the gap between the two players was not yet as wide during that victory in 2022.
The full picture also includes the fact that Carlitos has won the last three matches against the American without dropping a single set. In our Alcaraz vs. Korda prediction, however, we’re taking an open-minded approach and betting that none of the sets played will go to a tiebreak.
Alternatively, however, given the reasons mentioned, there’s no way around betting on a 2-0 victory for the Spaniard. For this, odds of 1.33 are available in the bet365 app for Carlos Alcaraz vs. Sebastian Korda.
In his opening match against Joao Fonseca (ATP 39), Carlitos impressed by winning 80 percent of points on his first serve, allowing only three break points against him and confidently fending them all off. Because he also won 40 percent of return points on the fast hard court in Florida, he earned five break points of his own. One converted break point per set was enough for a 6-4 victory—a scenario that could very well play out again.
Carlos Alcaraz – Sebastian Korda Head-to-Head Record
Head-to-Head: 4-1
The two players have faced each other five times on the ATP Tour so far, and with four wins, Carlos Alcaraz leads the head-to-head record by a wide margin.
The Spaniard has only been defeated by Sebastian Korda once, losing 1-2 at the 2022 Monte Carlo Masters. The world No. 1 has won the last three matches in straight sets without dropping a single set.
Carlos Alcaraz – Sebastian Korda Prediction
The betting odds from top bookmakers for the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Sebastian Korda clearly and unequivocally favor the world No. 1, who has lost only one of 19 singles matches played in 2026. Carlitos showed no signs of being affected by his loss in the semifinals of the Indian Wells Masters when he played in Miami.
He secured an unchallenged 2-0 opening victory against Joao Fonseca. However, his American challenger also recorded a 2-0 win in his opener, during which he didn’t concede a single break point. The match will therefore not be a walk in the park for the Spanish superstar.
Nevertheless, we expect that Carlitos’ return game is strong enough to take the decisive service games from his opponent. As a result, the prediction for Carlos Alcaraz vs. Sebastian Korda makes sense: none of the sets will be decided in a tiebreak.
