A clear-cut affair in the Björn Borg Group?
Alexander Zverev was also unable to stop Jannik Sinner, who, after a clean 2-0 victory (6-4, 6-3) over the German, has already secured the group victory and will now face Ben Shelton, who, after two defeats, no longer has a chance of advancing. Accordingly, this last group match in the Björn Borg Group is no longer of great relevance, but could perhaps be interesting for that very reason.
After all, the American will still be keen to end the 2025 season on a high note with a victory over one of the top stars of the ATP Tour. However, there is no value to be found in betting on the underdog in the match between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton.
The last six matches between the two athletes have all gone to the Italian, who only had to admit defeat in his very first encounter with Ben Shelton – two years ago, incidentally, on indoor hard court in Shanghai. This was a rare defeat for the Sextner, who currently boasts a winning streak of no less than 28 games in a row on indoor hard courts and is currently even higher in the rankings than Carlos Alcaraz at the 2025 ATP Finals. As much as we would like to recommend bets with higher odds, it would definitely not be a serious recommendation. Anything other than a 2-0 victory for the South Tyrolean would be a big surprise in the Jannik Sinner vs. Ben Shelton prediction.
To get at least slightly higher odds, one could bet on Jannik Sinner avoiding a tiebreak altogether, just as he did recently against Alexander Zverev in a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Against the German representative at the ATP Finals, he allowed an impressive seven break points against him, but was able to fend off all of them without exception, which is likely to be the key to success now as well.
For under 0.5 tiebreaks, Jannik Sinner is available at odds of 1.41 against Ben Shelton, although it would also be possible to use the handy Bet365 app to simply add a 2-0 win for the player from Sesto to this bet to create your own combination bet with slightly higher odds.
Jannik Sinner – Ben Shelton Head-to-head record
Head to head: 6:1
The two players have crossed paths seven times so far, with Jannik Sinner emerging victorious in six of those seven encounters. Twice, the South Tyrolean ended the American’s strong run at Grand Slam tournaments in 2025. Both in the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open and in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships, Ben Shelton from Sesto defeated him 3-0.
Jannik Sinner – Ben Shelton Tip
Although the American, who has already been eliminated, can play freely, as the 2025 season will end for him after this match against the top favorite, we consider a bet on Jannik Sinner against Ben Shelton, that “Big Ben” can make it even halfway exciting, to be of little use. The Italian will play an important semifinal the day after this last group match. On the one hand, it is therefore in Sextner’s interest to keep the match as short as possible. On the other hand, he will certainly try to keep the tension high. The American will therefore certainly not be able to count on a local hero who is playing it safe.
Accordingly, all outsider bets are out of the question, which is why we are betting on Jannik Sinner against Ben Shelton at odds of 1.41 that there will be less than 0.5 tiebreaks in this final group match. At Bet365, we are placing six out of ten units on this tip, which, incidentally, could also be combined with a bet on Jannik Sinner winning 2-0.
