Will the Italian clinch the Sunshine Double?

History will be made on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. Either the massive underdog Jiri Lehecka, who has reached the final of a major tournament for the first time in his career, will win his first Masters title on the ATP Tour. Or, for only the eighth time in the history of professional tennis, a player will claim the so-called Sunshine Double.

Jannik Sinner triumphed just two weeks ago on the other side of the United States at the Indian Wells Masters and has now made it to the grand final once again. In the Jiri Lehecka vs. Jannik Sinner matchup, we believe it is by far the most likely outcome that the Italian will become only the eighth player in history to win the Sunshine Double.

The head-to-head record alone speaks volumes. The two players have faced each other four times so far, and without exception, Jannik Sinner has cleanly defeated the Czech player without dropping a single set. When you also consider that Jiri Lehecka has won just nine of 32 career matches against top-10 players—resulting in a win rate of only 28.1 percent in those matchups—the Lehecka vs. Sinner prediction can only point to a 2-0 victory for the Italian.

Although odds of around 4.00 are being offered for Jiri Lehecka to win even a single set against Jannik Sinner in this grand final, we really can’t find any value in that. After all, the Italian was simply too dominant in Miami, where he most recently gave Alexander Zverev no chance whatsoever, sweeping the German off the court 2-0 in just 114 minutes and not dropping a single service game with a 79 percent first-serve winning percentage and 50 percent on his second serve.

Since the South Tyrolean’s return stats are also solid, you could also bet via the bet365 app at odds of 1.37 that none of the sets in this final will be decided in a tiebreak. In their last matchup at the 2025 French Open, the South Tyrolean ultimately surrendered just three games in total during his straight-sets 3-0 victory.

Jiri Lehecka – Jannik Sinner Head-to-Head Record

Head to Head: 0:4

The two players have faced each other four times so far, and the resulting record is downright overwhelming. Not only has Jannik Sinner won all four previous matches against Jiri Lehecka, but in all four cases, he hasn’t dropped a single set against the Czech.
Most recently, in a straight-sets 3-0 victory in the third round of the 2025 French Open, he conceded just three (!) games (6-0, 6-1, and 6-2).

Jiri Lehecka – Jannik Sinner Prediction

In the match between Jiri Lehecka and Jannik Sinner, the betting odds from top bookmakers are overwhelmingly in favor of the Italian. At ODDSET, the odds are just 1.06 for the Italian to win; he enters the match as the clear favorite and won the Miami Masters two years ago, though he was unable to defend his title last year due to a doping suspension.

His record of 24 wins to just three losses nevertheless shows that the hard-court tournament in Florida suits him perfectly, especially since he has not dropped a single set this year and recently swept past two top stars of the ATP Tour, Frances Tiafoe and Alexander Zverev.

While Jiri Lehecka also put on a strong performance in the tournament, he didn’t face a single player from the world’s top 20 aside from Taylor Fritz. To some extent, the early exits of the favorites at Hard Rock Stadium have contributed to the 24-year-old reaching a major final for the first time in his career. However, this makes the prediction that the final between Jiri Lehecka and Jannik Sinner will be a rather one-sided affair all the more inevitable.
