How fit does Zverev feel?
The world number three has a tough task ahead of him in the Tallon Griekspoor vs. Alexander Zverev tip. In search of form and preparing to defend his title at the last Masters tournament of the calendar year in Paris, the 28-year-old is once again plagued by physical problems.
According to his own statements, the Hamburg native only knew during the warm-up phase before his first-round match against Jacob Fearnley (2:1) that he would be able to compete. His subsequent 2:0 victory against Matteo Arnaldi went a little more smoothly, but does not stand in the way of our Tallon Griekspoor vs. Alexander Zverev prediction at the ATP tournament in Vienna.
However, caution is advised for the 24-time ATP title winner in his eleventh meeting with his Dutch opponent. German betting providers are by no means the only ones on the market whose distribution of the Tallon Griekspoor – Alexander Zverev odds suggest a smooth victory in the quarterfinals rather than a close match.
We do not share this confidence. The Dutchman is prone to fluctuations in form. At the start of the event, he triumphed over Karen Khachanov (2:1), who was recently in the top 10. The 29-year-old then followed up with a straight-sets victory over Brandon Nakashima (2:0), confirming his good form.
As number 28 in the ATP world rankings, Griekspoor will put the German to the test – just as we did with our Interwetten test. The bookmaker is offering odds of 1.60 for this match between Tallon Griekspoor and Alexander Zverev.
Zverev has been considered one of the top stars in men’s tennis for years, and the 28-year-old can play to his strengths on indoor hard courts on good days. However, nothing is going according to plan in 2025, which is why we have decided to bet on “Tallon Griekspoor to win at least one set.”
Tallon Griekspoor – Alexander Zverev Head-to-head record
Over the course of his career, the world number three has an excellent record against the Dutch tennis pro. Zverev has won eight of their ten meetings so far. There have already been three matches in 2025 – two of which went to the 2021 Olympic champion.
However, the seven-time Masters champion has certainly had his problems with Griekspoor. Zverev lost the first match of the current calendar year (1:2 Indian Wells). In Munich, the German corrected the trend and celebrated a hard-fought 2:1 victory in the quarterfinals. As in the first duel of the season, the match included two tiebreaks. At the French Open, a visibly limited Griekspoor finally had to retire in the middle of the second set.
Tallon Griekspoor – Alexander Zverev Tip
This match could be characterized by ups and downs. Griekspoor is ranked among the top 30 players in the world, has reached two finals, and won the tournament in Mallorca. On the other hand, the 29-year-old has been eliminated in the second round or earlier in 14 events.
His start at the Erste Bank Open was promising and points to one of his better weeks. Zverev cannot exactly say the same – physical problems and a lack of confidence are causing the world number three to ponder in the final phase of the season.
Most recently, Zverev dropped at least one set in three of four matches and only celebrated a straight-sets victory in the second round against Matteo Arnaldi (he only gave up a single break point). In addition, Griekspoor took at least one set from the German in four of their six previous head-to-head matches. We believe the chances of advancing are much more evenly balanced than the odds currently suggest.
