Who will find the better balance in the game?

Early in the 2026 calendar year, two title contenders will face off. In our Inter Milan vs. Napoli tip, the defending champions from southern Italy will try to reduce the gap to the league leaders. Antonio Conte’s team is in good form.

During the week, the Partenopei missed out on a win against relegation candidates Hellas Verona (2-2). We value the morale shown during the match more highly than the final result. Despite trailing by two goals at one point, SSC prevented a defeat and limited the damage ahead of our Inter Milan vs. Napoli prediction.

Head coach Conte has used both a back four and his preferred back three this season. Recently, the defending champions have been playing with two high wing-backs more often. Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo took advantage of this space in the match against Hellas Verona, venturing into the opponent’s penalty area and scoring the equalizer.

The visitors’ offensive play has been flourishing again recently. The southern Italians have finished five consecutive competitive games with at least two goals of their own, despite missing key players in the forward line (including Romelu Lukaku and David Neres). Among German betting providers, however, there is consensus in the Inter Milan vs. Napoli betting odds that the third-placed team is the underdog.

We have found several arguments that point to a home win. However, we particularly remember the level of the league leaders’ offensive department. The Nerazzurri have scored the most goals in the league (40) – no other team has even reached 30 goals this season.

Cristian Chivu’s players have scored 24 goals in their last nine home league games – an average of 2.66 goals per home game. Instead of getting bogged down in a win bet, we prefer to go down the route of the two offenses.

Inter Milan – Napoli Head-to-head record

La Beneamata has developed a certain aversion to duels with the Partenopei in recent years. Inter Milan has been waiting for a win against SSC for four league games (3D, 1L). In all four matches during this period, both teams celebrated at least one goal.

We also expect both top clubs to score in their next direct encounter in the Italian top flight. Inter has earned the most expected goals (34.2 xG) in the league and has found the back of the net an average of 2.2 times per game. Napoli is also among the top five attacking teams with 27.7 xG.

Inter Milan – Napoli Tip

Under Cristian Chivu, the Nerazzurri have continued and gradually established a trend that helps the current league leaders to overcome deep-lying defensive blocks. Various defenders repeatedly get actively involved in the attacking play, increasing the effort required by opposing teams.

Federico Dimarco is by far the most noticeable. On the left wing, the talented left-footed player appears in the attacking third more often than any other defender in Serie A and has made the most ball contacts there (451). His opening goal against Parma was no coincidence, but rather part of a system.

Alessandro Bastoni plays a different role, but he also often brings the ball out of the center into the opponent’s half and is just as happy to penetrate the final third. His 284 touches in the attacking third are among the top five for all nominal center backs. However, Conte must be trusted to attack precisely the gaps created by such advances.
