How much risk are the Gunners taking?
The 2025/2026 Premier League season is 33 matchdays in. At the top of the table are two teams with the same number of points (70) and an identical goal difference (+37). The Gunners cannot afford another slip-up in the Arsenal vs. Newcastle match.
Most recently, Mikel Arteta’s team went three Premier League games without a win (1D, 2L). Their performance in the head-to-head match against Manchester City (1-2) still left a positive impression, however. We expect the Londoners to be just as courageous against Newcastle as they were against the Cityzens in the Arsenal vs. Newcastle prediction.
The home side can once again rely on their greatest strength—consistent defending—at the Emirates Stadium. The clear favoritism in the Arsenal vs. Newcastle betting odds comes as no surprise. Looking at the Premier League table, the two clubs are separated by roughly 28 points.
Eddie Howe and his team are now stuck in the bottom third of the table. Last weekend, the Toons lost their third Premier League match in a row. Luck abandoned Howe’s side several weeks ago—Newcastle has lost eight of its last eleven matches in the English top flight.
DFB striker Nick Woltemade’s club is particularly ineffective in away matches. The Magpies have scored just 16 goals in their previous 16 Premier League away games.
Arsenal – Newcastle Head-to-Head Record
From the Gunners’ perspective, the Toons might be coming to London at just the right time. In recent years, Arsenal has rarely had trouble with the Magpies. Newcastle has now gone 13 Premier League away games without a win at the Emirates.
Offensively, Newcastle has been a complete disappointment in recent away matches against the Gunners, scoring just one goal across their last nine away games. Furthermore, as the Gunners’ manager, Mikel Arteta has conceded only six Premier League goals to the Toons.

Arsenal – Newcastle Prediction
Eddie Howe, on the other hand, has rarely found the solutions needed against the second-place team’s defense. Howe has won only four of 19 matches against Arsenal as a manager. On average, his players have scored less than one goal in those matches (15 goals in 19 games).
The external circumstances will be particularly difficult for Newcastle. The Toons are among the weakest away teams in the league this season (16 points in 16 games). Furthermore, only Wolverhampton has scored fewer away goals (7) than Newcastle (16).
Our Arsenal vs. Newcastle tip receives further support from the statistics department. The visitors have created 76 big chances so far (10th) – a mediocre figure. Far more critical is their second-worst conversion rate of big chances among all Premier League teams (32.9 percent).
If you want to focus on one half, the second half is the way to go. Arsenal has scored the most goals in the league during that period (39), while Newcastle has managed only 22 goals (15th) after halftime.
