Will the Falcons remain winless in Green Bay?
Only two weeks into the NFL season, and the Atlanta Falcons’ season already seems to be over. Now they’re sending long-injured quarterback Michael Penix onto the field on Thursday, which at least makes our Packers vs. Falcons pick a bit more interesting, since with Cooper Rush at the helm, this offense was anything but NFL-caliber.
However, even with Penix, there’s likely to be nothing to gain in Green Bay, where Atlanta hasn’t won in 18 years. While the Packers haven’t been convincing this season either, they at least showed improved defense and comeback capabilities against the Jets. That should be enough against this Falcons offense, which we don’t expect to score more than 17 points—and likely significantly fewer.
So, for Packers vs. Falcons, our prediction is that Green Bay will extend its winning streak at home against Atlanta in a game where not many points are expected to be scored overall. We wouldn’t be surprised if the total didn’t even reach the 40-point mark here.
The Thursday Night Game kicks off at 2:15 a.m. on Friday morning in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast live on Sky, the new NFL network for the 2026–27 season.
This makes the odds of Packers -6.5 for Green Bay vs. Atlanta a solid bet as well, though we could even go as high as -8.5 to maximize value.

Green Bay has won six of the last ten meetings. The record is particularly lopsided at the feared Lambeau Field, where Atlanta hasn’t won in 18 years. This includes even successful Falcons seasons under Matt Ryan. Now, with Penix and this depleted Falcons team (both starting pass rushers are out), the Packers’ winning streak should definitely continue.
The Falcons are averaging just 8.0 points, but Green Bay, at 21.0 points, isn’t exactly leading the offensive statistics either. So, for the Packers vs. Falcons game, the betting odds on the total going under (currently 44.5) are worth considering. With Penix and Jordan Love, we’re unlikely to see the kind of offensive fireworks we saw under Ryan in Atlanta or Rodgers in Green Bay.
Green Bay Packers – Atlanta Falcons Prediction
Who besides Bijan Robinson is supposed to carry this Falcons offense? The fact that he got into a heated exchange with the other key player, Kyle Pitts, of all people, during the game against the Panthers doesn’t exactly speak to great team chemistry. That’s likely to show up again on Thursday when they face the improving Packers defense.
It’s extremely hard to see the Falcons scoring more than one touchdown here, especially since they haven’t played a single snap in the opponent’s red zone yet. So, for Packers vs. Falcons, a bet on the Falcons scoring under 19.5 points is a very solid betting option.
