Will the Bears conquer Lambeau Field?
A quirky matchup awaits us in our Packers vs. Bears pick. Although the Packers are playing at home, the Bears—with their backup quarterback Tyson Bagent—are still considered the favorites. Why? Because the Packers haven’t been able to get anything right so far and are sitting at a 2-2 record only thanks to a lot of luck.
The Bears, on the other hand, are 3-1 and have even managed to compensate very well for the absence of their starting quarterback, Caleb Williams. Head Coach Ben Johnson’s play-calling makes this possible and positions the Bears as slight favorites in this matchup as well.
Nevertheless, this matchup is, of course, completely up for grabs, as Bagent has only five games of NFL starting experience under his belt. His counterpart, Love, is significantly more experienced, and the Packers have also made some adjustments to their offensive line over the past two weeks, including the signing of Kevin Zeitler.
So, for the Packers vs. Bears game, our prediction is that it will be a hard-fought contest, as has so often been the case between these two storied teams. No other matchup in the NFL has occurred more frequently (this is already the 214th meeting). It’s anyone’s game as to who will win in the end, though we’re leaning slightly toward the Bears, who are also the favorites.
This rivalry game kicks off on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sport 1 as a standalone game as well as part of the conference coverage.
In addition to betting on the under, betting on the Bears is also an option. We simply believe they have the significantly better coaching staff, and with a -2.5 handicap, the odds and point spread for Packers vs. Bears are still quite reasonable.
Green Bay Packers – Chicago Bears Head-to-Head Record
Packers fans long for the Aaron Rodgers days, when he didn’t just “own” the Bears—as he himself put it. Back then, Green Bay had a streak of eleven straight wins. However, the Bears have won three of the last four matchups—including a playoff game in January.
While Chicago is currently without Caleb Williams, the Packers can only laugh at these injury woes. They’re missing three key starters—Parsons, Cooper, and Reed—and Josh Jacobs remains sidelined due to his criminal trial.
This has turned the Packers’ running game into a farce, and they managed a mere 17 rushing yards against Atlanta in their last game. As a result, for Green Bay vs. Chicago, betting on the Packers to gain few rushing yards is also an option with bookmakers that offer this market.
Green Bay Packers – Chicago Bears Pick
The Packers allow an average of 139.3 rushing yards per game, while the Bears gain 196.3 per game (an NFL-best). This is a mismatch that Chicago should exploit, making bets on a Bears road win a viable option.
However, our preferred bet for Packers vs. Bears is an Under 45.5 total points. There have been plenty of low-scoring games between these two teams, and with backup Bagent on the Bears’ side, we don’t expect a high-scoring affair.
When it comes to player bets, we’ll have to get creative, but with Monangai and Golden, we have two solid TD options with slightly higher odds. Golden, in particular, has recently emerged as one of Love’s favorite targets, scoring two touchdowns in two games.
