Will the Cowboys Get Overrun Again?

In our Packers vs. Cowboys pick, the Dallas Cowboys are heading to Lambeau Field to face one of Green Bay’s favorite opponents. The Cowboys have won just one of their last twelve meetings, and they’re once again considered slight underdogs heading into Sunday night’s game.

In our view, they’re actually the slightly bigger underdogs with this defense that can’t stop anything or anyone—neither through the air nor on the ground. It allows 395.4 yards per game, the second-worst mark in the NFL, and with 168.4 yards allowed against the run, it actually ranks last in the league.

For the Packers, the Cowboys are now the second favorite opponent in a row—after the Bears last Sunday—to visit Lambeau Field. They sent Chicago home with a 31–7 loss, and we don’t expect the Cowboys to pull off an upset here either.

So, for Packers vs. Cowboys, our prediction is a home win for Green Bay, though the Cowboys should put up a slightly better fight than the Bears did last week. The NFC matchup kicks off at 2:15 a.m. on Monday morning in Green Bay.

Since the Packers are only -1.5 on the spread, these odds for Green Bay vs. Dallas are definitely worth betting on. On top of that, bet on a Packers win in the first quarter, since the Cowboys almost never manage to stop their opponents’ first drives.

Green Bay Packers – Dallas Cowboys Head-to-Head Record

We’ve already discussed the Cowboys’ dismal record against the Packers. In their last meeting last season, there was at least another 40–40 tie—though that wasn’t enough to save the Cowboys’ season.

Before that, however, Green Bay won ten of the last eleven matchups—five of them by double-digit margins. It shouldn’t be that one-sided on Sunday, though, since the Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the NFL (averaging 27.6 points). Nothing stands in the way of another high-scoring showdown like last year’s, which also affects the Green Bay vs. Dallas betting odds.

Green Bay Packers – Dallas Cowboys Pick

The Cowboys have no defense. Experts and fans alike have been making fun of this for weeks now, and after seeing Jordan Love against the Bears last Sunday (376 passing yards), that defense really does give you cause for concern.

This should definitely be enough to keep the equally strong Dallas offense in check. That’s why, for Packers vs. Cowboys, a bet on the Packers -1.5 is our clear favorite betting option. Followed by an over bet on Green Bay (over 26.5) or a general over bet (over 52.5).

As an interesting player bet, a touchdown bet on Christian Watson is our favorite option. Dallas has struggled to defend long passes this season, and that’s Watson’s specialty when working with quarterback Jordan Love.
