Norwegian dark horse takes on the record champions
My Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt prediction for Matchday 1 of the 2026–27 Champions League group stage is clear: We’re in for a high-scoring match. The match will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. at the Allianz Arena and, on paper, looks set to be a one-sided affair. But the visitors from Norway already proved last season that they can give even Europe’s biggest teams a run for their money.
For my Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt prediction, I’m looking at both teams’ current form. While Bayern, after a 5–1 opening-day win against Stuttgart, recently drew 0–0 at Schalke—and are thus no longer at the top of the Bundesliga table for the first time in 67 matchdays—the Norwegians are traveling with their heads held high. Bodø/Glimt comfortably leads its domestic league and has won all of its last eight league matches. So, in terms of competitive intensity, the edge clearly lies with the visitors.
Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt AI Prediction
A key component of my analysis is the Bayern vs. Bodö/Glimt AI prediction. Our in-house AI algorithm has analyzed the match in depth and provides exciting insights. Unsurprisingly, the AI sees Munich as the overwhelming favorite and puts their probability of victory at an impressive 88.7%.
However, the goal expectations are particularly interesting. Based on the Expected Goals (xG) values for both teams, the AI calculates a total of 4.84 goals for the match. Of these, 3.97 xG are attributed to Bayern and 0.87 xG to Bodø/Glimt. This data-driven prediction aligns with the bookmakers’ assessment, who also anticipate a high-scoring evening and have set the over/under line at 4.5 goals with very even odds. This suggests that, despite Bayern’s clear status as favorites, the visitors are also expected to score.
Bayern – Statistics & Current Form
The Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt odds reflect the German record champions’ tremendous home form. The Munich side has been unbeaten in 38 home games in the Champions League group and league phases, an impressive streak of 36 wins and just two draws. Last season, too, they remained undefeated in seven Champions League home games, scoring 21 goals in the process. With 122 goals in the Bundesliga and 43 in the Champions League, the offense set new records in 2025–26.
Will Bayern stumble defensively again?
Despite their offensive firepower, Vincent Kompany’s team has recently shown defensive weaknesses. In three of four competitive matches this season, they’ve conceded a goal—even against second-division side Osnabrück in the DFB Cup. In the previous Champions League season as well, Bayern kept a clean sheet in only two of 14 matches. In twelve of those 14 European matches, both teams scored. This vulnerability could play into the hands of the boldly playing Norwegians.

Bodø/Glimt – Statistics & Current Form
Anyone looking at the Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt betting odds might quickly underestimate the visitors. But the team caused a sensation in 2025–26 when it celebrated victories over Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and Inter Milan in the Champions League and advanced to the round of 16. They seamlessly built on those performances in this year’s qualifying round, remaining undefeated in four matches and scoring twelve goals in the process.
More Than Just a Bold Underdog
Bodø/Glimt is unbeaten in 18 competitive matches across all competitions (15 wins, three draws) and travels to Munich brimming with confidence. The team is known for its bold, possession-oriented style of play and won’t sit back in its own penalty area. In the Champions League qualifiers, they averaged three goals per game. Particularly noteworthy: The Norwegians have scored at least two goals in eleven of their last twelve European matches. This offensive firepower is the main reason for my betting tip.

Bayern – Bodö/Glimt Head-to-Head Record
This is the first time these two clubs have faced each other, so there is no direct head-to-head data available. However, a look at their history reveals clear trends. Bayern has won all four of its previous home games against Norwegian teams with a goal differential of 17–3.
Bodø/Glimt, on the other hand, is still waiting for its first win against a Bundesliga team after three matches. However, the Norwegians managed to secure a respectable 2–2 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage just last December. This result should serve as a warning to Bayern.
Bayern – Bodö/Glimt Prediction
In the final analysis, the signs point to an entertaining match. Bayern is a force at home and will push for a win with its formidable offensive power led by Harry Kane. Their streak of 38 unbeaten home games in this stage of the competition speaks for itself. At the same time, Munich’s defense isn’t always rock-solid, which will open up opportunities for the offensively strong visitors.
My Bayern vs. Bodø/Glimt prediction is therefore that both teams will score. The odds for a home win are extremely low and offer no value. The Norwegians have the quality, form, and courage to score at the Allianz Arena. Therefore, I recommend betting on “Both Teams to Score.” Winamax is offering odds of 1.68 for this, and I’m placing a bet of six out of ten units on it.
