Manchester Must Pick Up Points in the Title Race

The battle for the Premier League title in England is heating up. We continue to see an exciting neck-and-neck race between the “Gunners” and the “Citizens,” with the Londoners currently holding a slight edge. The Gunners’ easier remaining schedule on paper also works in their favor.

On Tuesday, Bournemouth faces Manchester City, and a bet on the home team is rewarded with odds of 4.20 by bookmakers licensed in Germany. The “Cherries” have nothing to give away in this matchup, as the Red and Blacks are still fighting for a spot on the international stage next season.

In their first 36 matches, the home team has secured 13 wins and 16 draws. Their 55 points currently put them in sixth place, which would mean a spot in the Europa League. But even the Champions League is still a possibility. Thanks to Liverpool FC’s loss on Friday, the Cherries could close the gap to just one point behind the “Reds” with a win on Tuesday. But the task at the end of Matchday 37 couldn’t be tougher.

The visitors refuse to give up in the title race. With 23 wins and eight draws, the “Sky Blues” currently have 77 points and are thus two points behind Arsenal, who host Burnley FC on Monday evening. With a win, the “Citizens” aim to stay on the Gunners’ heels and overtake them should the Gunners slip up.

Even a tie in points is still possible between the two teams, so goal difference is also important. Here, too, the teams are nearly even. In the upcoming away match, head coach Pep Guardiola’s squad is the favorite.

Bournemouth – Manchester City Head-to-Head Record

The two teams have faced each other 17 times in the Premier League. The “Citizens” have 16 wins to their name, while the “Cherries” have been successful just once. In the first leg, the “Sky Blues” prevailed 3-1. The Red and Blacks celebrated their only win in November 2024, when the home team won 2-1 in front of their own fans. In ten of the last eleven matches between the two teams, there were more than 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth – Manchester City Prediction

The hosts can look back on an impressive record. After all, the “Cherries” are unbeaten in their last 16 league matches. Their last defeat came in a 2-3 loss to league leaders Arsenal. In four of their last five games, full points went to the team led by Coach Andoni Iraola, who has steadily guided his squads toward international qualification spots over the past three years.

Manchester knows there’s no room for error if they’re to secure their eleventh league title. But in recent weeks, the “Sky Blues” have been in impressive form, picking up 16 out of a possible 18 points from their last six league games. On Saturday, they clinched their next domestic title. With a 1-0 victory over Chelsea, Guardiola’s side celebrated winning the FA Cup.

For the hosts, a spot in an international competition seems assured. But which one is still completely up in the air. Anything is possible between fifth and eighth place. Two wins are needed for the Champions League, but we don’t believe that will happen. The “Citizens” want to win the league, and for them, only wins count from here on out.

Both teams want to secure the three points to keep their goals alive. Therefore, we expect an offensive-minded match. With odds of 2.15, betting on over 3.5 goals in the Bournemouth vs. Manchester City match is a good alternative.
