Can the Andalusians turn things around again?
Cadiz CF last played in Spain’s top flight between 2020 and 2024. At first, it looked as though the Andalusians might mount another challenge for La Liga in the 2025/26 season. Throughout the entire first half of the season, the Limoneros were among the top teams and even sat in first place in the standings after the ninth matchday, before an unprecedented slump set in.
The Andalusians have won just one of their last 18 league games (two draws, 15 losses), which has seen them drop all the way down to 18th place. If Tip 2 doesn’t come through against Cadiz in Castellon either, even their remaining three-point lead over the first relegation spot is in danger of crumbling, which would amount to a complete fiasco.
As a result, Cadiz has once again made changes on the bench. A turnaround has yet to materialize in the first three matches under Imanol Idiakez (one draw, two losses). However, the Limoneros—who often lack punch in attack—have at least scored a total of three goals in those three matches. Considering that while Castellon still has a chance at promotion, they have kept a clean sheet in only one of their last 13 league games, the Andalusians should at least be able to find the back of the net in their away match on the Spanish east coast. We therefore recommend, regardless of the match’s outcome, the Castellon vs. Cadiz prediction that Cadiz will score.
CD Castellón, meanwhile, sits in sixth place with three matchdays remaining and would thus barely qualify for the playoffs. Trailing by six points for a direct promotion spot, it likely won’t be enough for anything more. However, they must at least hold onto that sixth-place spot against pursuers Eibar and Burgos. The Albinegros will therefore do everything in their power to secure a home win in front of their own fans. As a result, this Friday night match in La Liga 2 could also turn out to be a high-scoring affair overall.
Castellon – Cadiz Head-to-Head Record
Head to Head: 16 – 9 – 17
A total of 42 matches have taken place between the two teams so far, and Cadiz CF holds a narrow lead with 17 wins. The Andalusians already won the first leg against Castellón 2-0 and are unbeaten in their last four matches against the team from Spain’s east coast (three wins, one draw). In their most recent away match at Estadio SkyFi Castalia, the Limoneros also secured a 3-1 victory.

Castellon – Cadiz Prediction
In our view, the betting odds from top bookmakers for the Castellon vs. Cadiz match are far too heavily in favor of the home team, even though they have now gone four games without a win against the Andalusians (one draw, three losses).
Admittedly, the deep slump the Limoneros are in plays a significant role in the bookmakers’ assessment. Nevertheless, the first half of the season has already shown that there is certainly some quality in the Cadiz squad, which is why we can only advise against placing a premature bet on the favorites.
Admittedly, there isn’t much to suggest the visitors will pick up a point either, as they have won only one of their last 18 league games (two draws, 15 losses) and arrive in Castelló de la Plana in a state of high uncertainty. Under new coach Imanol Idiakez, however, the Andalusians have at least scored three goals in three league games (one draw, two losses).
Given that CD Castellón, for its part, has kept a clean sheet only once in its last 13 matches, it is therefore highly likely that the relegation-threatened Limoneros will at least score an away goal.
