Can City stay in the title race?
The Premier League title race is heating up, and neither team can afford to make another mistake. Manchester City won the FA Cup semifinal against Southampton last week and has thus reached the final of that competition. However, this means they are once again one game behind their rivals at Arsenal and, with 70 points, trail the league leaders by three points.
We don’t expect many goals from this matchup, though – in 19 home games for the Toffees, only twice have more than three goals been scored. In the last nine head-to-head matches between the two teams, only one ended with more than three goals. In our Everton vs. Manchester City prediction, we are therefore once again betting on under 3.5 goals in the match.
Everton heads into the match in rather poor form. The team has lost its last two league games and is therefore under pressure—the last time they suffered three consecutive defeats was in January of last season. Particularly striking is their poor home record against Manchester City: they have lost all of their last eight home league games against this opponent—a historic losing streak for the club.
Manchester City, on the other hand, is in strong form. The team has been unbeaten against Everton in 17 Premier League matches, winning 14 of them. Things are going well right now, too: City has gone 11 league games without a loss (eight wins, three draws) and is both the highest-scoring team and the most defensively solid during this period, having conceded only eight goals.
Offensively, Erling Haaland remains a key factor, regularly set up by Jérémy Doku, among others. Four of Erling Haaland’s 24 Premier League goals this season have been assisted by Jérémy Doku. Haaland has scored five goals in his last five competitive matches and remains a reliable presence in City’s attack.
Everton – Manchester City Head-to-Head Record
In the head-to-head comparison between Everton FC and Manchester City, Manchester City holds a slight overall advantage. In a total of 188 competitive matches—mostly Premier League encounters—Everton has recorded 63 wins, while Manchester City has the better record with 79 victories. 46 matches ended in a draw. The trend is also clear in terms of goal difference: Everton has scored 241 goals but conceded 278.

Everton – Manchester City Prediction
The bookmakers’ Everton vs. Manchester City betting odds naturally lean heavily toward the visitors from Manchester. The Sky Blues have won their last eight away games at Everton and are unbeaten in 17 PL matches against the Toffees. Haaland remains a key factor for City and scored both goals against the hosts in the first leg.
The Toffees’ games aren’t necessarily high-scoring – there have never been more than three goals in their last eight home matches. Furthermore, Everton manager Moyes has lost 13 of his 15 previous encounters against Pep Guardiola and is still waiting for his first win.
