Brentford still has its sights firmly set on Europe!
With last weekend’s away win at Chelsea FC, Manchester United took a giant step toward the Champions League. With five matchdays remaining, the “Red Devils” hold an eight-point lead over sixth place. Everything thus points to former pro Michael Carrick leading the sleeping giant back to Europe’s biggest stage.
Despite the overall positive season, the tip for MUFC in Monday night’s match against Brentford is by no means a sure thing. The visitors from London, too, can be very satisfied with their season so far and still have a major goal of their own in sight.
Sitting ninth in the table, the “Bees” are within striking distance of the European spots. For example, they are just two points behind sixth-place Brighton. So the dream of qualifying for European competition for the first time is still alive! One reason for this is the fact that coach Keith Andrews’ team is extremely difficult to beat.
Brentford FC suffered eight of their total of eleven losses this Premier League season by early December. Since then, they have added just three (!) more defeats in the five months leading up to today. Two of those came at home, meaning the men from West London have actually not lost away in the top flight since January 17. In total, the Red and Whites are on a six-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, with the last five matches all ending in draws!
With that in mind, ahead of Monday night’s head-to-head between Manchester United and Brentford, the Double Chance X2 bet plays a significant role in my analysis.
However, anyone who is gradually regaining confidence in the multiple Champions League winners from the industrial city and therefore wants to avoid betting against Carrick’s team should take a closer look at the Manchester United vs. Brentford odds on Over goals.
The fact is that United have scored at least one goal in each of their last 21 PL matches and, with 58 goals scored, boast the third-best offense in the Premier League behind the two title contenders, Manchester City and Arsenal. Also interesting: No other club averages more goals than the Red Devils (3.12). In five of the past six league games involving MUFC, the Over 2.5 bet would have paid off. Brentford has even seen at least four goals scored in three of their last six PL matches!
Manchester United – Brentford Head-to-Head Record
The most recent encounters have also consistently been marked by relentless attacking play. For example, Brentford Football Club won the first leg at the end of September 3-1. Last season, too, the Bees prevailed at home with a 4-3 victory. At Old Trafford, MUFC secured a 2-1 win.
In eight of the past ten matches, the Over 2.5 would have paid out. Both teams scored at least once in five consecutive matches. Everything points to a bet on “Both Teams to Score” and “Over 2.5” paying out on Monday night as well.

Manchester United – Brentford Tip
To wrap up the matchday in the English Premier League, Manchester United will face Brentford on Monday evening. The visitors from the west of the capital are one of the positive surprises this season and still have a good chance of securing a European spot.
Although the Londoners have recently gone five games unbeaten, they’ve only managed to pick up five points from those five draws. Nevertheless, it’s been clear lately just how difficult the Bees are to play against and how hard they are to beat.
I would therefore be cautious about betting on a home win and might even be more inclined to bet on the Double Chance X2. Aside from that, there are good arguments in favor of three or more goals in the match. An average of 3.12 goals are scored in MUFC matches—the highest in the Premier League! Past head-to-head matches have also generally been quite spectacular. I’m therefore going with the Manchester United vs. Brentford tip for Over 2.5.
