Will the Reds do just enough at Millerntor?
FC Bayern Munich made a strong statement on Tuesday evening at the Bernabéu with a 2-1 away win over Real Madrid, which opened the door to the Champions League semifinals just a crack. However, the Reds still need to finish the job this coming Wednesday on the Isar, and given their nine-point lead in the German league, they are unlikely to be looking for a grueling battle at the Millerntor.
This is certainly an opportunity for FC St. Pauli, who are hoping to score a “big point” against a Munich side that may already be mentally focused on the Champions League return leg. In our assessment, however, a bet on St. Pauli earning a point against Bayern is not a viable option.
After all, FCSP has once again been too lackluster in recent weeks. They’ve picked up just two out of a possible twelve points from their last four league games, in which the Brown-Whites scored a mere two additional goals. With only 25 goals scored, they have the lowest tally in the league, which is why the focus for the St. Pauli vs. Bayern match is on a low-scoring game. Once the Reds take a 1-0 or 2-0 lead, the record champions are likely to shift down a gear to conserve as much energy as possible for their next showdown with the Blancos. We therefore recommend betting on under 3.5 goals.
Of course, the Kiezkickers’ hope of picking up a point against an undisputed league leader who currently has entirely different priorities is not without merit. However, we wouldn’t bet on it. Nevertheless, it would be conceivable to place a positive handicap bet on Hamburg, which would at least mean that such a point gain isn’t categorically ruled out.
St. Pauli vs. Bayern AI Prediction
The AI is also struggling with this Saturday night match using the three-way system. On the one hand, given the very low odds, the Reds’ status as favorites isn’t strong enough for the three-way system to offer value. And on the other hand, the odds for the Kiezkickers to earn a point are too low. Therefore, for St. Pauli vs. Bayern, the AI prediction suggests that at most one team will score.
St. Pauli – Stats & Current Form
FC St. Pauli continues to fight for sheer survival in the top flight of German soccer and, after an outstanding February in which they secured nine out of a possible twelve points in league play, has recently failed to win four times in a row (two draws, two losses). With just 25 points from 28 league games, FCSP is currently in the relegation spot and would thus at least avoid direct relegation. However, the stated goal is, of course, to reach safety, which is currently two points away.
A point against the German record champions would therefore be incredibly valuable for the Kiezkickers, though they have lost ten of their last eleven competitive matches against them (one win). It is therefore not all that surprising that astronomical odds are being offered for a home win by the Boys in Brown in the St. Pauli vs. Bayern match.
St. Pauli lacks firepower
In addition to their four-game winless streak in the league and their poor record against Munich, two other factors are causing problems for the Kiezkickers. First, coach Alexander Blessin will have to do without captain Jackson Irvine, who, due to a yellow-red card suspension, will miss this crucial home match against the German record champions of all games. And second, the FCSP is struggling most of all in their attacking play.
With just 25 goals in 28 league matches, the Kiezkickers have the league’s weakest offense. Furthermore, Hamburg has recently been too erratic when holding leads. For the first time since returning to the top flight of German soccer in the summer of 2024, St. Pauli squandered a lead in two consecutive league matches (one draw, one loss).

Bayern – Stats & Current Form
FC Bayern Munich continues to build toward a thoroughly historic season. For the first time in five years, the Reds have once again made it to the semifinals of the DFB Cup. Furthermore, the door to the Champions League semifinals is now wide open after storming the Bernabéu on Tuesday. Following the 2-1 away win, a draw next Wednesday will be enough to secure a spot among Europe’s top four teams.
In the league, meanwhile, the title race is effectively already decided following the victory in the classic match against BVB, who currently sit in second place, nine points behind Vincent Kompany’s side. Even if the bet on an away goal at the Millerntor in the St. Pauli vs. Bayern match doesn’t pay off, a lot would have to go wrong for the championship trophy not to end up on the Isar this summer.
Will a brief burst of pressure be enough for Bayern again?
Munich’s biggest trump card is their formidable offense, which has already reached the 100-goal mark after 28 matchdays. Bayern have already scored four times as many goals as FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga, and with their next goal, they would match the historic record of 101 goals in a season (set in 1971/72). Particularly impressive: Even without star striker Kane, FCB managed a 3-2 comeback victory last weekend at SC Freiburg despite trailing 0-2 until the 80th minute, demonstrating that the team’s goal-scoring threat runs through the entire squad.
Most recently, brief bursts of pressure have often been enough for the Munich side to turn matches in their favor.
The three points earned after trailing 0-2 in Breisgau were, after all, no isolated incident. Kompany’s side has already picked up 22 points in the 2025/26 season after falling behind. Throughout the entire three-point era, only one team has been more effective after falling behind—Bayern themselves in the 2005/06 season (23)…

St. Pauli – Bayern Head-to-Head Record
Head-to-Head: 3 – 5 – 17
A total of 25 competitive matches have been played between the two teams so far, and with 17 wins, FC Bayern Munich leads the head-to-head record by a wide margin. The Reds also won the first leg against FC St. Pauli 3-1 and have won ten of their last eleven Bundesliga matches against the Kiezkickers (one loss). The only exception was a 1–2 loss at the Millerntor on February 6, 2002, following which FCSP had the now-iconic “World Cup Winners’ Beater” T-shirts printed.
St. Pauli – Bayern Prediction
In the St. Pauli vs. Bayern match, the betting odds from the top bookmakers clearly favor the visitors from the Isar, who are, on paper, vastly superior to FCSP, but currently have other issues to deal with. FCB aims to eliminate the record-holding Champions League winners in the second leg against Real Madrid this coming Wednesday and secure a spot in the semifinals, before facing a tricky away cup match at Bayer Leverkusen a week later. It’s hard to imagine that the first-team lineup will take the field in the Bundesliga, where their lead over BVB currently stands at nine points.
The record champions, who haven’t lost an away Bundesliga match in 23 games (17 wins, six draws), certainly don’t want to lose the match at the Millerntor. Nevertheless, we expect the Munich side to do only what is necessary in Hamburg and, accordingly, anticipate a league match that won’t be overly high-scoring.
