Who will take the lead?
Tip-off for Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals, and we have a tip ready for the showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The series is turning into a real nail-biter!
After four matchups, both teams have two wins and two losses each. Now the hosts are counting on home-court advantage and on Dylan Harper. The rookie is slowly emerging as the “X-factor” in the series and has increased his scoring average from 11.8 in the regular season by two points in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
Against the T-Wolves, he’s stepping up even more with an average of around 15 points! With that in mind, for Game 5 between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves, we’re predicting that the 20-year-old youngster will score more than 10.5 points.
Furthermore, we also expect another strong performance from Anthony Edwards on the visitors’ side. “Ant-Man” scored 36 points in the last game—the most on the court at the Target Center—and took on a lot of responsibility in crunch time.
The 24-year-old scored 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter. Moreover, it was his second consecutive game with 32 or more points. Given this, the odds on the guard scoring more than 26.5 points again in the showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves also appear advisable.
Furthermore, we anticipate another strong defensive performance from the “Mill City” basketball team. In three of the four games in the series, they held the “Lone Star State” scorers to a maximum of 109 points!
San Antonio Spurs – Minnesota Timberwolves Head-to-Head Record
Minnesota won the last matchup against the Texans and is proving to be a tough opponent for the Spurs in the current series as well. Seven of the past ten meetings ended with a victory for the visitors!
Nevertheless, the betting odds for the next game between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves point toward a home win.
San Antonio Spurs – Minnesota Timberwolves Pick
The Spurs’ last loss in the series was closely tied to Victor Wembanyama’s early ejection. The Frenchman committed a severe “Flagrant 2” foul in the form of an elbow to the neck of his opponent Nazan Reid after a rebound and was quite rightly sent to the locker room early.
He may now even face a suspension for the fifth game of the Western Conference semifinals against the “Mill City” team.
Against this backdrop, we therefore expect Dylan Harper to once again play a strong game for the home team.
The young gun, who was apparently picked second overall in the last draft for good reason, has scored at least eleven points in five of the past seven games, averaging 15.4!
In light of these numbers, a bet on Harper scoring at least eleven points again in Game 5 between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves looks promising. A feat he has achieved in all but one of the four games in the series against the T-Wolves!
