Will it be another high-scoring showdown?
Calling this our Rams vs. Bills pick for NFL Week 5 a “top game” is probably an understatement. After all, this matchup pits the two clear-cut Super Bowl favorites for 2027 against each other. If the bookmakers are to be believed, we’ll be seeing this showdown once again next February.
It’s a bit surprising that the Rams are still considered the top favorites, given their rocky start to the season. In addition to injury concerns (Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald, and, time and again, Puka Nacua), it’s primarily the poor form of quarterback Matthew Stafford that’s causing concern.
Last season’s MVP has already thrown six interceptions—almost as many as he did in the entire previous season (8). Both teams turn the ball over frequently anyway (Rams: 8 turnovers, Bills: 7), which often leads to short field situations and plenty of points.
So, for Rams vs. Bills, our prediction is an exciting and high-scoring game that could go either way. In their last meeting, the game ended 44–42 in favor of the Rams, and we saw a whopping 86 points scored.
This means that in the Rams vs. Bills matchup, betting odds suggest the possibility of a touchdown by both Josh Allen (who already has 7 rushing touchdowns this season) and Kyren Williams on the opposing team.
Los Angeles Rams – Buffalo Bills Head-to-Head Record
We’ve already discussed the last matchup, in which a whopping 86 total points were scored. But in the three games prior to that as well, the winner always scored at least 30 points. So we’re expecting the winner on Monday to score at least 30.0 points as well.
As mentioned, the Rams won that last matchup 44–42, but of the last ten meetings, seven went to the Buffalo Bills, who have simply been a bit more consistent. We wouldn’t be surprised if they pull off a slight underdog victory on Monday.
That would be the case with a 3.0 to 3.5-point lead, which the bookmakers are giving the Rams. That’s too much for us, which makes the odds on the Bills much more favorable for the Los Angeles vs. Buffalo matchup.
Los Angeles Rams – Buffalo Bills Pick
The Bills score 31.8 points per game, while the Rams score only 21.3. That alone says a lot about the season so far. It gets interesting, however, when we realize that the Rams gain more yards per game (417.0 to 386.3).
This already gives us a hint as to how often the Rams fail to finish their drives.
They’ve already turned the ball over eight times, which could happen again against Buffalo, who have already recorded five takeaways of their own. So, for the Rams vs. Bills matchup, a bet on Buffalo is our preferred option, which also offers strong odds of up to 2.35.
A whopping twelve touchdowns were scored in their last matchup in 2024, so at least 5–6 touchdowns should be possible on Monday as well. This is another good betting option alongside bets on the Bills or player bets.
