Will the Wolves’ away slump continue?
For a while, AS Roma were back in contention for Champions League spots. However, after recently struggling particularly on the road—securing just one point out of a possible 15 in their last five Serie A away games—the Giallorossi have slipped to sixth place in the table.
With ten fewer points to their name, Bologna FC, however, sits in eighth place. Nevertheless, when betting on Bologna vs. AS Roma, one must also consider that the Rossoblù have not lost any of their last five home games against the team from the Eternal City (two wins, three draws).
The two teams faced off twice as recently as March, when they were drawn against each other in the Europa League round of 16. After the first leg in Emilia-Romagna ended in a 1-1 draw, the Veltri (meaning “the Greyhounds”) knocked the Wolves out of the competition with a 4-3 away win in extra time.
However, Bologna FC was subsequently eliminated in the quarterfinals with a combined score of 1-7 against Aston Villa. Both teams have consistently struggled to score goals, which is why we see the greatest value in the Bologna vs. AS Roma prediction in the fact that no more than two goals will be scored in this rematch.
Not much happened, especially in the Giallorossi’s away games. The Giallorossi scored 19 goals in 16 away matches and conceded 19 in the process. The Rossoblù, on the other hand, failed to score in two consecutive competitive matches.
Bologna – AS Roma Head-to-Head Record
Head-to-Head: 57 – 51 – 58
A total of 166 matches have taken place between the two teams so far, and with 58 wins, AS Roma leads the head-to-head record by a narrow margin over the Emilian side’s 57 wins. This season marks the fourth time the two teams have faced off.
After the Giallorossi won the first leg in the Eternal City 1-0, Bologna FC knocked the Wolves out of the Europa League round of 16 in March of this year with an aggregate score of 5-3 (1-1, 4-3 a.e.t.).

Bologna – AS Roma Prediction
While it is already all but certain that the reigning Coppa Italia champion and Europa League quarterfinalist from Emilia-Romagna will no longer be competing internationally in the 2026/27 season, the Giallorossi are still keeping one eye on the Champions League.
However, to make up the five-point gap to fourth place, the Wolves need to get their away form under control. Although our prediction for the Bologna vs. AS Roma match leans toward the visitors, the fact that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side hasn’t won in five Serie A away games (one draw, four losses) ultimately comes into play, which is why we’re ultimately steering clear of the three-way system.
Both teams have occasionally lacked offensive punch, but they know how to defend effectively, even though that hasn’t always worked out in recent weeks. Nevertheless, given this situation, we expect the match between the two sides to be low-scoring, which is why we’re betting on under 2.5 goals.
