When will Chelsea’s losing streak end?
The Premier League takes no break this week and kicks off Matchday 34 as early as Tuesday evening. Brighton and Hove Albion will face Chelsea FC at the Amex Stadium. The hosts currently sit in ninth place with 47 points, while the visitors are in sixth place with just one point more. European competition is therefore still very much within reach for both teams.
The Seagulls have been strong at home, losing only three of their 16 league home games. However, these home matches haven’t been particularly high-scoring: none of the last nine featured more than three goals—and only two of the 16 did. In our Brighton vs. Chelsea prediction, we’re therefore once again betting on under 3.5 goals in the match.
Brighton heads into this matchup in remarkably solid form, especially when compared directly to Chelsea. The Seagulls have won their last two league matches against the Blues, thereby matching their total points haul from the first 19 encounters. The offensive development is particularly striking: Since the 2022/23 season, Brighton has scored at least two goals in six of their last seven league matches against Chelsea, totaling 17 goals—an average of 2.4 goals per game—a drastic increase compared to previous years. In our Brighton vs. Chelsea prediction, we therefore anticipate two goals from the hosts once again.
However, their recent form at home has been more defensive in nature. The last nine Premier League home games have yielded an average of just 1.8 goals, with Brighton scoring nine goals and conceding only seven. This stands in stark contrast to the start of the 2025/26 season, when the first seven home games averaged 3.6 goals per match. Under manager Fabian Hürzeler, Brighton also remains a tough team to beat, particularly against English managers, against whom he remains unbeaten in the Premier League (seven wins).
Chelsea has been inconsistent overall and has struggled with problems, especially on the road. After a stretch of four clean sheets in five away games between October and December, the team has now gone eight consecutive away matches without keeping a clean sheet. Particularly striking is their vulnerability despite taking the lead: two of their last four Premier League matches against Brighton were lost even though Chelsea had been ahead in each—including the first leg at Stamford Bridge.
There are also weaknesses when it comes to scheduling: just three wins in their last 14 Premier League matches on a Tuesday, along with five losses in their last six away games on that day of the week, highlight clear issues in this regard.
Brighton – Chelsea Head-to-Head Record
The head-to-head record between Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea FC clearly favors the Blues overall. In 19 competitive matches so far—17 in the Premier League, plus one each in the FA Cup and the League Cup—Chelsea has secured ten wins, while Brighton has won only five; four matches ended in a draw. Chelsea also leads in goal difference, 33–24.

Brighton – Chelsea Prediction
The hosts have won two of their last three home games and have lost only three in total this season. Only two of those games saw more than three goals scored – against the Blues, however, they have been clinical, scoring at least two goals in six of their last seven meetings.
The visitors from London, on the other hand, are in a bit of a slump and have lost six of their last seven competitive matches—their only win came against lower-division Port Vale. The Blues also struggle on Tuesdays, having secured just three wins in their last 14 Premier League matches.
