Another blow to the US attack?

In Cremona, everyone is biting their nails: With four matchdays remaining, US sits in 18th place and would thus be relegated again after just one year in Serie A. We’re giving you a tip for the first of four decisive matches for survival between Cremonese and Lazio Rome!

The hosts have recently struggled to handle the pressure of their league position. They’ve managed to pick up just one point from their last four league games. Among other things, the offense has been very weak, scoring only one goal during this stretch.

The men from Stadio Giovanni Zini can’t count on a home advantage either: Only Pisa and Hellas Verona have a weaker home record than the “Grigiorossi” (2-7-7). Given this situation, we’re predicting an away win to nil in the match between Cremonese and Lazio Rome.

Furthermore, we expect a severe lack of goals. In the Romans’ away games this season, an average of just 1.4 goals have been scored—the lowest figure. On top of that, only two of the 17 away games played by the Tiber side have ended with more than two goals. Against this backdrop, the odds on no more than two goals in the Cremonese vs. Lazio Rome match are also worth considering.

In our view, bets on a halftime draw could also pay off. Lazio has taken a very controlled approach to away games this season: This is easily seen in the fact that the visitors, along with Parma, have the most away draws (11 in 17 games each) at halftime!

Cremonese – Lazio Rome Head-to-Head Record

The teams last faced each other in November of last year in the “Eternal City” and played to a scoreless draw. Thanks to the draw, Coach Maurizio Sarri’s “Eagles” remain unbeaten in this matchup across four league and Coppa Italia encounters (3-1-0).

For the upcoming Cremonese vs. Lazio Rome match, the odds also point toward the visitors avoiding defeat.

Cremonese – Lazio Rome Tip

Lazio still has a chance at a title this season after recently reaching the Coppa Italia final, and in league play there is still a slim chance of securing a European spot, should they not already qualify for the Europa League by winning the cup.

We therefore expect the visiting team to remain motivated, and the task ahead for last season’s seventh-place finisher is absolutely achievable with Coach Marco Giampaolo’s squad.

“La Cremo” is in a relegation spot, and recent performances offer the hosts little hope of avoiding the drop.
The home team’s offense, in particular, has largely failed to deliver, scoring just one goal in their last four winless league matches. Now, however, they face the “Biancocelesti,” who boast the second-best away defense, having conceded only a dozen goals in 17 away games this season.

Given this situation, we see sufficient value in the betting odds for an away win to nil in the match between Cremonese and Lazio Rome. This prediction is supported by the statistics: The two-time Italian champions have already won three of their last four matches against Cremonese without conceding a goal!
