Will the Spurs’ downward spiral continue unabated?

After Tottenham Hotspur became the only Premier League club still without a single win in the 2026 calendar year, the club’s management pulled the plug during the international break and appointed Roberto De Zerbi as the new coach—a man who knows the Premier League very well, having managed Brighton (2022–2024) of all teams.

The desired effect failed to materialize. In their first match under the Italian, the Spurs lost 0-1 to AFC Sunderland and find themselves in a relegation spot for the first time in 17 years. Should the prediction of another loss for the Londoners against Brighton come true, that situation would remain unchanged.

Yet there are several good reasons to back the team from the English south coast. After all, Brighton & Hove Albion has won five of its last six Premier League matches (one loss), thereby shaking off the minor slump from the start of the year and suddenly setting its sights on European qualification spots once again. Against the Spurs, the Seagulls have scored an impressive 14 goals in their last five matchups—an average of 2.8 per game—and have picked up seven out of a possible nine points in their last three Premier League matches against Tottenham. There’s plenty of value to be found in Bet 2.

It’s clear that the Spurs need to try something to get themselves out of this tight spot. Given that Brighton also plays very offensively under Fabian Hürzeler, the match in North London is likely to be a high-scoring affair.

Tottenham – Brighton Head-to-Head Record

Head-to-Head: 21 – 9 – 12

A total of 42 competitive matches have been played between the two teams so far, with Tottenham winning half of them (21). Currently, however, the Spurs have been waiting for a win against Brighton for three Premier League matches (one draw, two losses).

Particularly striking: The Seagulls have scored an impressive 14 goals in their last five Premier League matches against the Lilywhites, averaging 2.8 per game.

Tottenham – Brighton Prediction

Bottom line: In the Tottenham vs. Brighton matchup, our prediction leans toward the visitors from the English south coast, as the Spurs are the only Premier League club in the 2026 calendar year to remain completely winless in 14 league games (five draws, nine losses) and are now in a direct relegation spot.

While Roberto De Zerbi has certainly shown during his time with today’s visitors from Brighton that he can develop teams, his tactics did not yet bear fruit in the lackluster 0-1 loss at Sunderland.

On top of that, the Seagulls are coming to the Thames in excellent form. Fabian Hürzeler’s side has picked up 15 out of a possible 18 points from their last six league games and is now just two points behind sixth place. We expect a correspondingly bold performance from the southerners in North London, where we definitely believe Albion is capable of securing an away win.
