Who is more consistent?

It took until the end of March, but it’s done—Germany’s number two has won his first ATP-level match of the 2026 calendar year. The Kempen native even won his first-round match against Pedro Martinez without dropping a set (6-1, 6-4). The first match went just as smoothly for his opponent from our Daniel Altmaier vs. Dino Prizmic prediction.

The Croatian moved his season record into positive territory (5-4) with a straight-sets victory over Nikolos Basilashvilli (6-4, 6-2). Another victory for the young Croatian in our Daniel Altmaier vs. Dino Prizmic prediction is conceivable. At the very least, we expect a closely contested match.

Looking at their first appearances this season, the 20-year-old could even be considered the favorite. The Roland Garros junior champion qualified for the Australian Open as a lucky loser at the start of the season and put up a strong fight against James Duckworth (6-7, 6-3, 6-1, 5-7, 3-6). A highlight was certainly his first-round victory in Chile against Nicolas Jarry.

Beating a former top-16 player on his home turf makes an impression. We also noted his run to the second round at Indian Wells positively. There, however, the Croatian had to retire in the second set against Arthur Fils. He doesn’t seem to be affected by it—as his first-round match in Bucharest indicated.

Altmaier is still ranked nearly 50 spots ahead of his opponent in the ATP world rankings—though the trend is downward. We’re keeping an open mind about the outcome of the match and are betting on Daniel Altmaier vs. Dino Prizmic at Betano with odds of 2.15 for “Over 2.5 sets in the match.”

Daniel Altmaier – Dino Prizmic Head-to-Head Record

These two players have not yet faced each other at the ATP level. For further analysis of the two round-of-16 contenders, we refer directly to their respective first-round matches. There, Prizmic showcased his strengths, winning 35 return points and defending in spectacular fashion.

Overall, the 20-year-old created eight break points against Basilashvili, and he fully deserved them. His performance rating in that match was 8.43 out of 10. The analysis systems rated the quality of his forehand even higher (8.8). The player from Kempen couldn’t come close to those numbers.

Daniel Altmaier – Dino Prizmic Prediction

Although Altmaier needed only 30 minutes to win the first set against Pedro Martinez and played just as consistently in the second set, he achieved a performance rating of only 7.74.

We saw the biggest difference compared to his upcoming opponent in the return game.

While Dino Prizmic controlled the return games (8.0 rating), this aspect of the match remained a work in progress for Daniel Altmaier (6.4). However, the 27-year-old was able to control his service games and did not drop a single service game despite facing two break points.

The number of errors could be decisive in this matchup. Although Altmaier has won a match for the first time this season, he likely hasn’t yet gained lasting confidence in his more offensive playing style. On the other side, the Croatian is a dangerous opponent but still relatively inexperienced at the ATP level.
