Will Flick’s team take out their frustration?
After being eliminated from both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey by Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona is now focusing entirely on winning the Spanish league title. At least this title is practically a foregone conclusion for the Catalans and should really be just a formality. Just like the Flick-led team’s next home win in our Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo tip.
The visitors from Galicia fought their way into a European spot in the La Liga standings thanks to a strong run of form, but have suffered a veritable collapse in recent weeks. Given Claudio Giráldez’s team’s sometimes dismal performances during this period, we certainly can’t imagine in our Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo prediction that Os Celestes will be the first team this season to take points off Barça in their own backyard.
Barcelona – Celta Vigo Head-to-Head Record
A total of 123 matches between the two teams are recorded in the annals of Spanish soccer. Unsurprisingly, Barça has dominated with 70 wins. Celta Vigo has managed to win only 24 games, with 29 draws. At Camp Nou, Claudio Giráldez’s team has usually come away empty-handed.
Celta Vigo has won just three of 61 away matches, with 47 losses and 11 draws. It is therefore hardly surprising that the Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo betting odds for next Wednesday once again clearly favor the home team.

Barcelona – Celta Vigo Prediction
Frustration and disappointment were high among the Catalans after missing out on the Champions League semifinals. As in the Copa del Rey, Atlético Madrid once again proved to be the final hurdle for Hansi Flick’s team. The remaining opponents in La Liga are now set to feel the brunt of that anger over the latest elimination. After all, Barça is clearly on course for the title in this competition and wants to secure the title defense as soon as possible.
While the Catalans have won every home league game this season with an impressive goal difference of 51:9, their upcoming opponent is in a minor slump as the season winds down.
That’s why we’re also convinced of a clear Barcelona victory, though, as expected, there aren’t high odds on this at the bookmakers. A more interesting bet with better value is therefore the wager that Hansi Flick’s team will score more than twice this coming Saturday. In three of the last four home games against Celta Vigo, this mark has already been surpassed, and the signs that they will do so again are also good.
Because the team from Galicia is currently looking extremely weak, especially on defense. In addition to the two heavy defeats in the Europa League against Freiburg, in which they conceded three goals in each match, they also lost their last league game against bottom-of-the-table Real Oviedo 0-3. This most recent league performance, in particular, raises questions.
Not only was this the third loss in the last five league games following what had actually been a strong stretch of the season, but the performance against the bottom-of-the-table team was lifeless and unmotivated. At least Claudio Giráldez’s team, like their upcoming opponent, now has a week to lick their wounds following their Europa League exit against Freiburg, as there was no league match scheduled last weekend.
However, we doubt that Giráldez was able to use this time to instill new confidence in his team and correct the many mistakes in their play. In Barcelona, we expect another decisive defeat for Os Celestes by a margin of more than one, possibly even more than two goals. Therefore, in our view, a handicap bet as well as a bet on a shutout victory for the favorites in this match are definitely worth considering.
