Zverev is banking on the weather!

The 2024 Olympic champion won his first two matches at the tournament on the Seine without dropping a single set. The Hamburg native has thus confirmed his previously solid form.

He has now won 15 of 19 matches on clay this season! Given this consistency, we expect another dominant run from him and are predicting another 3-0 victory for the world No. 3 in the match between Alexander Zverev and Quentin Halys.

Furthermore, we expect at least one set to be decided in a tiebreak. The Frenchman has also been playing consistently at the French Open so far with two 3-0 wins, and in the only previous meeting between the two pros this March at the Miami Masters, Zverev won without dropping a set, but both sets were decided in tiebreaks!

Quentin Halys – Alexander Zverev Head-to-Head Record

As mentioned at the beginning, the Frenchman and the Hamburg native have faced off once before, and Zverev won the match 2-0 at the Miami Masters about two months ago.

For the upcoming match between Alex Zverev and Quentin Halys, the odds also clearly favor the German.

Quentin Halys – Alexander Zverev Prediction

Alexander Zverev won only one tournament last year, but that victory came on clay in Munich. He has also been very strong on this surface so far this year. He recently reached the final of the Madrid Masters, where he stood no chance against Jannik Sinner, however.

The weather is now also in the German’s favor: Zverev has often mentioned that he feels very comfortable in high temperatures, and there’s no shortage of those in the French capital these days. Moreover, the German, who prefers a sunny atmosphere, traditionally plays strongly at the French Open.

In four of the past five editions, he has reached at least the semifinals. In the Frenchman, he also faces an opponent who has been rather lackluster on clay this season.

Only at the Challenger tournament in Bordeaux did he last longer, reaching the semifinals. Otherwise, he has regularly been knocked out in the early rounds at the ATP level, as in Monte Carlo or Madrid.

While the fact that the 29-year-old has now reached the third round at the French Open—matching his best result at the tournament from last year—is certainly commendable, it has also come about through relatively manageable challenges so far.

He faced his compatriot Humbert, who is out of form, and the Italian Bellucci, who hasn’t made much of an impact this season either. Given this situation, we’re betting on a 3-0 victory for the German in the match between Alexander Zverev and Quentin Halys!
