Will the British fairy tale continue?

A local hero is enjoying a meteoric rise at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships. Arthur Fery, who was actually born in France, grew up just a few minutes away from the All England Club, attended King’s College School, and is now the first wild-card entrant in twelve years to reach the quarterfinals of the grass-court Grand Slam. If the 23-year-old Brit’s victory is predicted to hold true in his match against Flavio Cobolli, the world No. 114 would be just one more win away from becoming the first British Wimbledon finalist since Andy Murray (2016).

On paper, however, the world No. 10 from Italy enters the match as the favorite, especially since Flavio Cobolli reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals just a year ago and has nine wins in eleven singles matches played at Church Road. The 24-year-old’s run hasn’t been entirely smooth, though, as he had to fight back from set deficits in both the first and third rounds. In every single match, at least one set was decided in a tiebreak. We therefore see a lot of value in betting that there will be over 0.5 tiebreaks in this quarterfinal as well.

Although the odds from the top bookmakers in the Flavio Cobolli vs. Arthur Fery match clearly favor the Italian, this also means there’s even more value to be found in the so-called underdog bet. In the bet365 app, odds of 4.00 are available for a British victory, which is very promising simply because the 23-year-old rising star already defeated Flavio Cobolli 3-0 in straight sets at the 2026 Australian Open.

Flavio Cobolli – Arthur Fery Head-to-Head Record

Head-to-Head: 0–1

The two players had already faced off once at the start of the 2026 season when they were drawn against each other in the first round of the Australian Open. Qualifier Arthur Fery pulled off a massive upset by defeating 20th-seeded Flavio Cobolli in three sets, 3-0 (7-6, 6-4, and 6-1).

Flavio Cobolli – Arthur Fery Prediction

The world No. 10 faces the current world No. 114, so the favorite is clearly the No. 10. Flavio Cobolli also feels right at home on the venerable grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Just a year ago, the Italian reached the quarterfinals here. Overall, he has won nine of his eleven singles matches at Wimbledon.
And yet, Arthur Fery has recently eliminated no lightweights—beating Zizou Bergs and Grigor Dimitrov—and has impressed both physically and mentally. Physically, because he’s had to go the full distance on multiple occasions, and mentally, because he’s shown great resilience, coming back from seemingly hopeless situations—such as trailing 1-4 in the fourth and fifth sets against Bergs.

It’s striking that both players have already played several tiebreaks, with the young Brit in particular standing out for his tremendous mental fortitude, having won 4 out of 4 tiebreak decisions. It’s very interesting to note that at least one set in this quarterfinal is also expected to go to a tiebreak.
